I just saw a YT saying some sources said we see announcement in January and then release in April? If so this is amazing turn around and most likely they been gearing production already to get products out the door?
I also read that there is a Samsung court case that could result in the Switch having a OLED not a LCD as a result of this and we could see a price upgrade in the Switch as well.
Even if Switch 2 announcement will be in January 2024, but I already have agenda to get PS5 machine in February 2024.
I cannot wait to play my PS5 games that I have collected since July 2022.
The Switch 2 stuffs can be later after I got PS5 machine.

Furukawa is on record. Nintendo wants to reach 15m Switches sold by the end of March 2024. Announcing new hardware in January would negatively impact that projection. So no, no new hardware announcement until April or later.
I feel an announcement in June for a release between October or November is more likely.
Others on YT would say otherwise. They keep making Switch and Switch 2 to maximize sales. Furukaws is on record for PR response not the inside information that he would says that for anyone to hear. So let's be honest no one here has Uncle that works at Nintendo help them here. And some YT have more info that is more plausible then posters here can say otherwise. If so make a YT channel and inform the rest of us where one is getting their info to say otherwise. Posting links don't say much but others are visible on YT and that can't be refuted here.
I wouldn't put any stock in what a YouTuber says. Has no more value than some random posting on here. Same same. The number of times I've clicked through one of these videos and the guy has little to know technical knowledge and is just getting stuff wrong left and right. Or they're making a video based on a thread in some deep corners of the internet and you dig into it only to find hot air. Generally not worth the time
With that said.... as a prediction it's not a bad one. I could well see an announcement earlier in the year. I'm still of the mind that we're looking at somewhere around August but really, I'm mostly saying August to hedge my bets a bit. It's not based on anything. January could work.... I'm just not brave enough to bet on that date
@Magician
The bulk of sales are right now. Oct-Dec. I don't think an announcement in January is going to do anything at all to the yearly sales figures. Again, not saying random YouTuber guy has any information and I'm not giving them the click. But I don't think yours is a good argument against

I don't think a January or February announcement for Switch 2 is too outlandish.
The holiday season is when they're gonna move most of the Switch stock that they wanna move - they don't really have system sellers lined up for the first half of 2024 (at this point, who's gonna buy a Switch for a couple semi-niche remakes and a new Peach game?).
I think Switch 2 gets an announcement in the first few months of 2024 but doesn't come out until Fall of 2024.
Not if they want to meet sales projections. I don’t see an announcement until 2025.

This information might comes from a x user called @Zuby_Tech(or anyone else, I didn't check this carefully), and he refused to talk about his source . So I guess we shouldn't take this info seriously, and there are tons of info like this.
But just think about it. I mean, yeah, of course Nintendo wants to meet sales projections, but after Christmas, Nintendo marketing department guys should know their potential buyer has gone. Those who didn't buy a switch till 2024 is much less likely to buy one, and those who already got one (or maybe more) is much more likely to wait a couple of months.
Keeping secret is less likely to make more benefit, and maybe small shareholders will be confused.
So, I won't be surprised if they really make an announcement in January
I do wonder what planet people are on when they talk about Nintendo being potentially concerned about an announcement impacting sales. At this point what kind of person is still buying Switch hardware? I can tell you now, not the kind of person who is holding out for new hardware and will buy on day 1
