For comparison software attach rate for the Switch 1 and the end of 2017 was 3.54.
Worth repeating some of the rest of the discussion. The fact that the lines between generations blur for Switch 2 means that it's attach rate is always going to be weaker than it appears
As I said, I have 10 games I would personally consider "Switch 2 games". Most of them are not. Eg Prime 4 for me is as much of a Switch 2 game as BotW was a Switch game. In both cases I had both consoles but I purchased the version for the newer console and only played it on the newer console. But in terms of sales spreadsheets both of those purchases were a Switch game
Also worth noting that the end of 2017 included holiday sales, which we don't have for Switch 2 yet, plus a whole additional 3 months at the start of the year. So it's doubly handicapped on this metric. Really, it's just a bad metric to be using to compare the two
I would say if you want to compare software sales between the two you're going to have to do it between specific like-for-like releases, similar audience, similar budget, similar IP, similar price/bundle. Which at this stage I struggle to think of many (Odyssey v Bananza is probably the best, Zelda v Metroid is rough, Mario Kart is bad because it was bundled on S2). Also you'll want to do this comparison probably after around June next year so that the timing of the releases of both platforms in comparison to holiday sales doesn't skew you comparison
