I might sound crazy when i say this, but theres this feeling that i miss when Nintendo was trying to be “edgy” and “cool” you can get mad at me in the replies and stuff but I dont know how to explain it… (and im not nostalgia blinded i DIDNT grow up on these games)
The Reason i think this is Because Nintendo wasnt Afraid to express themselves And It made Everything More Loveable and More Creative, For Example, During around the 3ds-Wii-WiiU era, It Felt Like the Developers Were Having more Creative Will… I Dont have Much Knowledge As alot of people here but can someone give their thoughts on this Because the Switch just feels so Corporate…
@acesae Can you give some examples of the type of older games you are thinking of? I can't think of any recent 'edgy' games, but they have had some very creative and/or whacky and/or kinda strange games recently.
Some that i Remember is Mario Strikers and maybe Mario Strikers Charges as Ive seen Gameplay for it and played it once and Once you play it youll get it
Another one i really want is the Original Animal Crossing for yet again, the gamecube (guess what my favorite console is) The dialogue just feels so Drama-ful? One Problem i get from newer games like Horizons is That the bots are just too Nice and feel lacking of soul.
There is more that i probally forgot or havent heard of but pm Thousand year Door kinda gives that sort of feeling too that most of the stuff there feels like nintendo would never do recently
anyways still this is just a feeling
(Edit: i do heavily agree that newer games have been creative and most of the time beats the older ish things)
@acesae
I don't even like the edginess from older Animal Crossing especially on GameCube.
That antics I will never like whatsoever.
I like ACNH Way.... Much better than older Animal Crossing.
In fact, I have played more than 1055 hours for ACNH.
When in ACNH the villagers less talking, more designing like The Sims, No villagers will moving out by themself when I get hiatus from the game, that's why I like ACNH so much.
I played ACNH for building and designing aspect, not for the yada yada from villagers or other animals.
The yada yada from older Animal Crossing is gone and I'm glad that antics are gone.
@Anti-Matter I do agree that animal Crossing isnt Reliant on Animals Dialogue’s and more of a Town/building game, and ANNH doesnt need to be as edgy as the first one but it everything all the time is so happy and lighthearted., And yes i know that Thats what Animal crossing is meant to be but it doesnt feel like your talking to person in the newer games. And i know the Animals do get mad at you on occasions.
When Switch 2 comes out they most likely will have dedicated switch carts for 4k/DLSS games hopefully using the 3d nand tech to fit bigger games to insure gamers buy them.

This post moreso refers to games having lots of creativity
You say creativity and my mind defaults to new Intellectual Properties. Not easy to do in an industry heavily reliant on bankable sequels, remastered, and remakes. Although there are some genres Nintendo haven't dabbled in yet, innovation in video games is rare. Iteration is everywhere.
Personally, I'd like to see Ken Griffey's Baseball resurrected as Shohei Ohtani's Baseball.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,381 games (as of January 19th, 2024)

We have to assume here they will use 3D nand tech to put bigger games on cart at this point. But no one Nintendo is saying what kinda cart they will use but 3D nand is know for their large capacity and hope this can come with bigger games.
