Don't want to keep using the Switch 2 Direct Thread for general Switch 2 discussion, and since nobody else has created a general Switch 2 discussion thread, I am. The leaker who told us about Metroid Dread, Mario & Luigi and a number of other accurate predictions just posted that Indiana Jones, Ninja Gaiden 4, DOOM The Dark Ages and Hellblade 2 are coming to Switch 2. Listed quite a few others too, I just can't remember which ones.

I'm currently finishing up my 13th Trails game, I'm dubious the word "mainstream" can be applied to my tastes.

Its just, with F-Zero they've painted a gonzo, fairly compelling 90s style world. It seems a waste to then use it for basically nothing other than plotless racing games. Shifting away from being 100% racing would let you exploit those elements, while also differentiating from their other racing game that is largely the reason F-Zero has been dead for such a long time: Mario Kart.

Well in that case the problem is Nintendo is not making a significantly more expensive type of game for F Zero when they haven't even been making new F-Zero games.

Also Nintendo clearly doesn't care about genre repetition since they put Kirby Air Riders mere months after Mario Kart and they're putting out a 2D Yoshi game maybe two months after the "yes it does count it will easily outsell most Switch 2 games" Mario Wonder Switch 2 Edition. Putting out a new F Zero game in like 2027 or later would be significantly less pointless than things Nintendo is already doing, actually! (something that feels like could conceivably happen with how shockingly consistent they've been with F Zero 99 updates long after most people were paying attention to it)

@Buizel You can see the effect of GTA6 by the silence about the lineup on PS/Xbox post-May, companies are likely waiting for Rockstar to share GTA6 news before determining the summer lineup.
