@JaxonH I found the Ship Log to be the best method in providing direction. Yes, it is vague, intentionally so. Not trying to get you to get back into it...but for some reason, that game just pulled me in. I'd love to see this get a SW2 glo-up
@FishyS
Yea, seems like quite an oversight for such a large company. But I guess things get lost in the cracks. Even major first-party releases, I guess lol
@JaxonH Classic Pokemon titles are coming to the eShop?
Just a rumour. Though a new one, not in the teraleaks. People had been guessing the classic games would come to NSO for the 30th anniversary but Game Freak likes money so I could definitely imagine them selling a collection or a cheap-ish port with added QoL instead.
Plus the rumour says they would be compatible with Pokemon Home which is a somewhat legitimate reason to not have them be part of NSO.

There is precedent with Pokemon Yellow on 3DS (Or was it Red/Blue? Or all 3? Whatever). I expect an announcement on Pokemon Day.
As for ocean games, you really liked Endless Ocean on Switch? I know a diehard fan of the series who didn't really like it. It's not much of a "game" is it? Kinda just swim around and chill, observing ocean life right? Definitely a game that seems like it would benefit from prettier visuals.

@JaxonH I'm hoping the momentum keeps up with what the leaks are suggesting with Gen 10. If those games look good visually, maybe I won't have to live in shame as a fan of the series anymore.

I've always maintained Mario Tennis Aces was the best Mario sports title since Mario Golf World Tour on 3DS. It was so much better than people made it seem (though it was lacking content at launch, and took a while for the full game to blossom).
Mario Tennis Fever feels better than Aces. It's similar, but that much more polished, that much more refined, with that much better visuals being on Switch 2, and what is, imo, a more interesting core hook with Fever Rackets. Mario Tennis Aces was more... technical. This feels more accessible yet still technical enough to be satisfying.
And, it's got GameShare! Can't speak highly enough of this underrated feature. I'm trying to build up my library with as many GameShare compatible games as possible. I just love the idea of playing wireless multiplayer with only one copy of the game and no downloads.
I do not understand why this feature is glossed over with such a cavalier attitude amongst reviewers. Probably because they're rushing through to meet a deadline and don't have anyone available to play using GameShare. But that's a shame because testing the feature and informing us of how well it works should come with the territory.
@FishyS
Indeed. Aside from Xenoblade 1/2 and performance in the Zelda titles I always felt the visuals on Switch for 1st party were good enough. But there are exceptions like Endless Ocean which ya, I really do think would benefit from impressive visuals.
Sounds like Subnautica will be looking pretty slick on Switch 2 though.
I've gotten [somewhat] excited for every mainline Pokemon since Let's Go, and aside from Arceus which I adored (but ultimately dropped due to poor visuals and performance- that's not an issue now as my chipped OLED can output the docked image portably with rock solid framerate but... it's a day late and a dollar short as far as I'm concerned), every entry has resulted in the same general feeling of disappointment. Except Z-A which I just wasn't that excited for to begin with, but actually kind of surprised me with its fun gameplay.
I, too, am awaiting Gen 10 with eager hope and anticipation this will finally be "the one". It's gotta be. Unless it ends up cross-gen, but I don't think so given how much better the in-development screenshots look compared to prior games at similar points in the development pipeline.
Pokopia though, that looks like the best Pokemon game (spinoff or otherwise) since Arceus. And without the issues of lacking visuals and underwhelming performance. You looking forward to Pokopia?

@JaxonH I am looking forwards to Pokopia, yeah! It looks like a Pokemon themed version of Dragon Quest Builders- so I'm set on grabbing it at some point down the line. Probably going to get the digital copy though, since I don't really have a use for Key-Cards.
As for Gen 10, I'm optimistic as well. There's always a chance that it could get downgraded visually in later stages of production- but I have a good feeling about this one. Especially with how there's a heavy possibility GameFreak probably restructured their development pipeline in order to catch larger issues earlier into development.

I'm probably opting for a digital download for Pokopia. All the previews suggest that this will be a game I will dip into regularly a la Animal Crossing.
Now to decide which piece of tat I get from MyNintendo Store... Currently thinking about the travel bag.

It was all three and IIRC they also sold a physical edition of it which was a replica cartridge and a download code. Pretty sure all of them rocketed up the digital charts on the 3DS eShop and just stayed at the top for the remainder of that console's life
I don't know why they don't just put these games on there. I suspect if all of the GB/GBC/GBA games were on NSO there would be a non-trivial chunk of users who would subscribe for just that
As a fan of cosy life sim games, the main concept of Pokopia sounds like it's right up my alley. But when Pokémon originally came out in the nineties I was already a bit too old to be into it, so I've never played any of the games, never watched the anime, I've no emotional attachment to the franchise at all. So I'm wondering how much of Pokopia's charm comes from having such an attachment to the Pokémons themselves... Could someone like me who can't tell the creatures apart enjoy the game purely as a life sim and not as a Pokémon game?
@Polvasti I would think yes, as long as you also kind of like those kind of fantasy critters? Because for me the cool part of Pokemon is just the Pokemon themselves, and it's easy to just like... think of them as cool monsters XD
Like if you think you can enjoy it even if it's like, a new franchise, then I think it will still be enjoyable even if you aren't into Pokemon
@darkfenrir Yeah, I do like cute fantasy critters, and I much prefer the idea of building them a living environment to forcing them to fight each other. 🙂 That's why I'm seriously considering this as the first ever Pokémon game I'd play.
@Polvasti Same!! This is coming close to the perfect Pokemon game for me, so I'm super excited too--but I'm waiting for more proper reviews to come out first. (In hopes to know that there will be a story as well in this game...)
We still have another few weeks of waiting for it, so you can wait and see for more info too
