Age of Imprisonment looks cool, but I'll be waiting to play that until I do my NS2 Edition playthrough of TotK. So my next day one Switch 2 game is probably going to be Metroid Prime 4.
After that? I have WAY too many games to play as is in my backlog, so I'll probably coast along focusing on that until the new Fire Emblem comes out. Unless Nintendo announces a new Mario or Xenoblade or something, which I'm not expecting, but who knows?
Will likely play through Luigi's Mansion on NSO with my nephew as well after it launches on Halloween.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition

My solution to storage currently is to just let the vast majority of my Switch 1 library live only on my OLED. And if I want to move it to Switch 2 then I'll just go into the VGC menu and download it. Yes, it's somewhat going back to the good old days when we were told to "clean the fridge" on the Wii before they added SD Card support. But with internet speeds these days it's not much of an inconvenience
I'm only going to get a microSD Express card when I start running out of space for Switch 2 and Switch 2 patched releases. Which, admittedly, I'll probably hit early next year at this rate. But still

I do that too, especially being able to overclock on NSW OLED and the new Lite OLED. And while most games can output 720p docked image in handheld with stable locked 30fps, only NSW2 can guarantee 60fps for many of these games (albeit constrained to max handheld image portably). But thats still preferable for games like Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, Crysis Trilogy, etc. And some games are just my faves and I prefer NSW2 as my main platform so having them available is convenient (Portal 1/2, Ori 1/2, Trails and Ys games, etc).
Since I undoubtedly want to run at least some NSW1 games on NSW2, may as well cram a full 1TB mSD EX card with nothing but NSW1 games exclusively. The ones that get the full 60fps benefit and still look good in handheld, and the favorites for convenience.
Once 2TB mSD EX release then it'll be a bit easier. Split 2 cards for exclusives and multiplats, 4 TB total, which will last half the Gen, then curate for the 2nd 4 years whittling down to just the best of the best.
@skywake@JaxonH I just work on the principle that I don't need to have my entire library installed at once and keep what is down to the relatively small number of games that I'm currently playing, might play in the near future or are just generally good for a quick go at random.
It's a habit I picked up from having literally thousands of PC games, and installing all of them on any single machine would just be impractical even if I had the storage.
Never saw this coming. After Monster Hunter Wilds' massive launch reaching 10m units, sales cratered to less than half a million the following quarter, and now it's even being outsold by Rise in the most recent quarter. It still has yet to cross 11m units, while Rise is pushing toward 18m.
Think about that. Why?
Obviously poor PC performance is a major contributor but I think it goes deeper. Everyone here knows Monster Hunter is my favorite series. I've been known to bloviate on and on and on about how great it is, much to the irritation of other members at times, I'm sure 😉. I've consistently put in a minimum of 400 hours into every single entry since MH3U on Wii U, even reaching a staggering 800+ hours in Rise for Switch, not counting the 50 hrs in the demo or the 100 hrs in the Steam version.
But Wilds was different. It was the first time, ever, I played a MH game, since all the way back in 2013, where I lost interest before even completing Low Rank. So many reasons I could give. I hated how the new "palamute" ride autonavigated to the monsters. In Rise it always showed the Monster locations on the map after first discovery but the maps were smaller. It was designed for portable play. Wilds maps are in the vein of World. And even Rise didnt autonavigate. What's the point of a big massive world if you're Uber lifting to every fight?
To make matters worse, your slinger could gather from a distance while on your ride, and they made sure every necessary resource was along the routes the ride takes, completely negating any need for exploration to gather. Combined with nullifying the need to explore to find the monster and you end up with a game where there is no reason to explore for any reason... ever.
Even Rise with its portable styled maps had hidden scrolls to find and bird buffs to collect, ensuring exploration was integrated with gameplay at a fundamental level. But Wilds was a house divided. A game designed against its' biggest strength- the world itself.
There were many other issues with the game such as camps being destroyed and having to rebuild, but I maintain the single greatest problem was negating any need, desire or utility for exploration.
And I think word of mouth spread concerning that issue. Or at least, as a result word of mouth concerning how great the game is failed to spread, unlike prior entries such as World and Rise. Many criticized World, and Rise for that matter, for overcasualizing the series. And I definitely think there's some legitimacy to those claims. Although now, in hindsight, I think World was remarkably similar to the older entries all things considered and though Rise pushed the envelope further, it still maintained the addictive fun of the essential game loop. Wilds, unfortunately, did not.
And that's why I think the game's sales have tanked so hard. It says a lot that I reserve no anticipation for a future Switch 2 port and have already moved on, eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next entry from the Rise team. Not that I wouldn't give the game another go if it ever did get ported, but I have no reason to believe it would hold my attention any more than it did the first time. Besides, if they can't even get it running right on PC I don't think they're capable of the technical challenge a hybrid port would present.
I do think Wilds marks the end of an era though. Gone are the days of separate entries across Nintendo and PS/Xbox/PC. Wilds sales vs Rise is a shot across the bow to the suits at Capcom. They sold twice as many copies with a game built for a PS3-powered handheld as their massive AAA blockbuster. Heck, even Rise on Switch alone has sold as much as Wilds has across all other platforms. It is for this reason I believe the next portable entry will be for all systems (though I won't rule out a temporary exclusivity deal on NSW2), and the next "blockbuster" will be developed with NSW2 in mind, to hedge against a repeat of the Wilds fiasco.
@Matt_Barber Same. I get keeping live-service or multiplayer games you dip in and out of, but why keep random single-player games installed when you're not even actively playing them?
I feel like I can go a good, long while on the Switch 2's onboard memory with this approach. At least until Micro SD Express prices drop.
@JaxonH The game has the same problem that DD2 did: it's a big, open game built with an engine that doesn't seem to be designed to facilitate such game design.
Wilds has a lot of issues, tbh. Even on high-end hardware, it's not a particularly attractive game, and it seemingly chugs on even higher mid-range cards at lower resolutions. The lack of an endgame hook/challenge isn't that different from World/Rise were before their expansions, but it certainly doesn't help either. It rode in on a tidal wave of hype and goodwill from previous MH titles and totally squandered it. And because of RE Engine's apparent issues with games like this, who can even tell if Capcom can optimize it enough to address the title's omnipresent performance issues.
I'll play Stories 3 and dig into World/Iceborne and wait to hear what the Portable team has cooking, because it's almost certain to be better than this.
I could never get into the monster hunter games sadly. I think the earliest game I played was on the PSP if my memory serves me right and didn't enjoy it. I've tried some of the later games but not for me. I love the world's the game developers create just don't enjoy the gameplay mechanics of the game. It's a game series I want to enjoy but can't.

Same - I really want it to click for me, and I keep trying, but it never does.
Gameshare is a feature I want to see developers take more advantage of (doesn't hold breath)
I want to see some creative uses of it given it's effectively turning the second console into the equivalent of a Wii U Gamepad. So far it has just been for regular multiplayer stuff

Nintendo Land can finally be ported to the Switch.
@skywake
I don't see how any other use could be practical.
Nobody's going to have 2 NSW2 consoles in their lap playing a game. Multi-player is the sole purpose of Gameshare. I'd love to be proven wrong but I can't fathom any other reasonable use for it that people would actually care about.

Going on a road trip and thought about bringing my Switch 2. It's a bit of a longer one, so I reckon I'll need a charger. I have the official Switch 1 car charger, but I'm not sure if it's fine to use with the Switch 2. I assume it'll be fine, but I don't want to somehow cause damage to it. It's 5V/3A voltage, so if anything, I'm guessing it'll just charge slowly/not at all while gaming. If y'all know anything about it, I'd love to know!
@HyruleWanderer
Its power delivery so you cant charge it wrong, really. It'll be fine.
I do recommend the Genki portable magnetic battery with a $10 AZOZ A/B magnetic ring adhered to the back from Amazon. Super lightweight, magnetically snaps on the back of the NSW2, gets you 5 or 6 hours playtime while still keeping total weight under that of the original Steamdeck out of the box.
Charger works too though.

ACNH S2E shadow dropped. Kind of surprising that this is a shadow drop announcement, I mean it is a S2E but the game sold phenomenally well on Switch 1, this feels like kind of a big deal.
Also seems to be signaling the next AC game is pretty far away. It's getting content updates and collabs with Zelda, Splatoon, and LEGO, so they clearly want AC fans to be playing this game for another year or more. So I guess that's another big new game we can cross off the list of happening anytime soon. Shame, we really do need to see more big, new games on Switch 2 but this looks to be another game that comes out God knows when. But at least for me, I'm not an AC fan so it doesn't bother me as much (I'm more concerned about when games like the new 3D Mario, Luigi's Mansion 4, and Metroid 6 are coming out).
Interesting that they have 3 life sims in the first half of 2026. Not really my thing, so I think I'll be relying on 3rd party releases (and Prime 4) until Raiders and Fortune's Weave. That's fine though, RE Requiem and Monster Hunter Stories 3 look excellent.
I honestly didn't even have ACNH on my radar of Switch 1 games that could get a S2E. Live service/evergreen titles like AC aren't really as suitable for a port because the progress and updates are better tied to the system they release on. If you want new content for an entry on a new system it's probably better to simply release a new game for it because if you release a port and then a new entry later, then you have a conflict because you won't have time to play both and one has to be abandoned. This has me concerned for the timing and support for the next AC. It's obviously not happening anytime soon, but could we not even get an AC game this gen? You would think that would be a slam dunk but if ACNH is simply being recycled and enough people stick with it, could we see a MK8D scenario? The lack of new entries and overabundance of ports is concerning.
I believe Luigi's Mansion on GameCube - Nintendo Classics, is the first time we've seen a feature straight-up removed. The Pikmin Movie from the original Luigi's Mansion was seemingly taken out of the game completely.
