@Solaine i always watch every direct they do :3 and the splatoon ones usually air on the side of being actually useful and containing new info. i really think they dropped the ball with that mkworld one...

All of this talk about "eras" of Nintendo and all that just reminds me of how this current era of NOA specifically is definitely not my favorite, at least at the moment... that would belong to the Switch 1 generation (no, I'm not going to bug everyone about the reasoning again). Really, at least in my opinion, every era of NOA specifically is in dead last for the exact same reason aside from Switch 1 in number 1 and Switch 2 in number 2 with the potential to become number 1 depending on what happens over the coming years.
Japanese Nintendo though... they're definitely still cooking with some amazing new games. I'm honestly excited that they're focusing more on niche series / games instead of just rehashing only the more popular series again. An example being Yoshi and the Mysterious Book coming out earlier than 3D Mario. To be honest... I'm glad that people are excited about the next 3D Mario and all that, but... I'm just... honestly not? Like... with how I'm intentionally withholding money from NOA due to... reasons... I have to pick and choose which Nintendo games I buy so as to not give NOA too much of my money... and buying physical copies at Walmart and such helps in that regard. To be honest, at this rate, I highly expect that I am going to skip the next 3D Mario, not because I think it will be a bad game, but because there's no guarantee that the game will be complete on the cartridge because of stuff like DLC, and my gaming schedule for 2027 is already quite hectic thanks to Pokémon, Neptunia, and another JRPG or two that I'm thinking of playing if I've got the time. If anything, I'm more likely to pick up physical copies of the Super Mario Galaxy Duology and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury several years down the line when I do feel like playing a 3D Mario again someday. I've also already got a physical copy of Odyssey and a digital copy of Wonder (the Switch 1 version) if I ever suddenly feel like I need a Mario fix (that word just makes it sound like Mario games are an addictive drug, lol 😂 People online be constantly claiming that they need more 3D Mario though, so... 🤔). I'm not saying that other people longing for a new 3D Mario is bad though, far from it. I'm just honestly not all that interested in it myself and as such will be passing on it. So I can definitely wait for it to release. Those are just my thoughts. Perhaps they would be better for the "Unpopular Opinions Thread" 😜.
@Nep-Nep-Freak y'know, i just wanna ask how long ago that was, because i feel like i'm watching a person traumatized by a long-gone event still fighting a war that doesn't exist

Alright, i am curious now and am just gonna have a closer look at Raiders. Maybe it is something fun to play through with a friend! Definitely helps that it is not multiplayer pvp focused this time around

The only thing I disliked about Nintendo of America was their treatment of Xenoblade as a series. From the start they had problems with it, refusing to bring it over to the West and having to rely on Nintendo of Europe's localization (which did give the series it's iconic English VA, even if that became oversaturated for Fantasy RPGs after a while). Even when it was brought over to America, the game was made a GameStop exclusive- and GameStop price gouged consumers because the game's physical copies were limited print (this was before they let you buy games digitally on their consoles).
And even with the series growing larger, they still sorta treat it like this to this day. The Xenoblade 3 Collector's Edition debacle was horrid. I remember waiting in a digital queue for who knows how long, only to have no shot at actually being able to buy the CE. Meanwhile Nintendo of Japan had the pre-orders "make to order," so they didn't have people fighting over limited quantities like NoA did.

@VoidofLight granted, i'll gladly take "collector's editions being the average collector's editions" over "fighting tooth and nail to even get the games here without any weird exclusivity shenanigans"
we've at least hit the point where the games themselves come over here with no issue. and i don't really care much for collector's editions anyways (make to order is strangely uncommon in the us in general it seems)

So far the longest time to complete a Direct NSO roadmap lineup from initial announcement is 15 months. This happened twice, the N64 roadmap announced in the September 2022 Direct (final games were 1080 Snowboarding and Harvest Moon 64 in December 2023) and the GB roadmap in the February 2023 Direct (final game was a Japan exclusive releasing in May 2024).
But the April 2025 GCN NSO roadmap is looking to beat that record considering we're still missing Super Mario Sunshine and Pokemon Colosseum.
@Grumblevolcano Well this/next month would make 15 months, so it could be another tie. However, if I recall correctly they tend to only release one GC game at a time, so one would have to miss.
VB is also pending two games and SNES/Sega have not had an update this year. I believe all other platforms have added at least one game.
I can't even keep up with the giant cluster**** of Xbox news today. First they're closing Compulsion Games (South of Midnight, We Happy Few), then supposedly said studio along with Double Fine and Arcane are in active negotiations with Microsoft to spin-off and go independent, and now Microsoft is supposedly closing Ninja Theory despite them announcing Senua literally a week ago?!
Any goodwill that Asha built up is completely gone at this point. Hopefully everyone affected lands on their feet.
@IceClimbers Not only this, but apparently they're also discussing the idea of putting advertisements in their games. I figured nothing good was going to come out of them after Phil left, given his replacement previously worked with Microsoft's AI development department.
