@skywake I feel the only thing that could be hinting towards Switch 2 with the past day of announcements is if the NSO playtest is specifically something to do with Switch 2 (e.g. play Switch 2 only games on Switch 1 via streaming and they're using something like Black Ops 6 to test it).
Otherwise the announcements feel like "business as usual" timing. Alarmo can be bought right now and Brothership previews are a normal amount of time away from the game's launch.
@skywake Why would they announce Alarmo in October period if they were planning to also announce the Switch 2? You KNOW that the Switch 2 would overshadow it. This is sounding like we're not seeing the Switch 2 until 2025. This feels like a near confirmation.
@Bolt_Strike Alarmo and Switch 2 are two entirely different types of products that don't overlap. People aren't buying the Alarmo to play video games on. They're buying an alarm clock.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@VoidofLight Yeah, but video games are Nintendo's main business and what the vast majority of its fans are looking for. So once they announce the next big thing for video games they're going to stop caring about the side project and that's going to cut into sales.
Scenario A: Have a 1-2-3 of promotional releases in the first half of October, then go silent until 2025.
Scenario B: Have a 1-2-3 of promotional releases in the first half of October, to secure attention whilst clearing space for something bigger coming in the next few weeks.
I'm erring towards B personally.
The idea that they wouldn't announce anything video game related to protect sales of a novelty clock just seems a tad unlikely.
Nintendo are playtesting something video game related next week. Unless that happens to tie-in directly with Alarmo, it's already taking attention away from Alarmo, and Alarmo is only 48hrs old.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
The clock has basically sold out already in Japan, I doubt they're going to hold off on announcements that might overshadow it until they manage to get more units manufactured.
@Sigran102 I reckon it's going to be some sort of Nintendo flavoured social media app. Probably works on Switch 2 as the Online is going to be carrying on. (As usual, I'm always wrong.)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

For one thing it was already overshadowed by this NSO thing on the day it was announced. Secondly it's an NSO exclusive and currently only available in NA. I don't think it consumes anywhere near as much attention as you think it does nor is it anywhere near as important. The NES Mini and Switch chewed into each other far more than this will the Switch 2. Alarmo is closer to that Link's Awakening Game & Watch than anything else in terms of importance/impact
@skywake The same thing appeared to happen at the start of September too. Speed ran their marketing and previews then nothing happened.
Late August but yes. Although both can be true. FWIW while people were hyped about the possibility of September, myself included, the person who initially revealed the September presentations moving up to make space for other announcements has been consistent. They've always said they were moved up for content in October
Again, I know I'm more optimistic than some here but from my perspective you're all just too pessimistic. It's being announced this year. Feel free to quote me on that if it doesn't happen
The rest of the PS1/2 Tomb Raider games (The Last Revelation, Chronicles, Angel of Darkness) are coming to Switch:
The speed at which Tomb Raider games are being added to current platforms makes it seems like the Survivor Trilogy (2013, Rise, Shadow) is coming to Switch 2. Not really sure about the PS3/360 trilogy though as it's on Xbox via backwards compatibility and Legend is on the PS2 classics lineup for PS4/PS5 so maybe whoever suggested GCN and Wii NSO for Switch 2 is right with those 3 games (Legend, Anniversary, Underworld) coming to Nintendo hardware that way. I'd much prefer an actual collection over NSO.
I just can't think of what would be significant enough that they couldn't just announce it at the same time they start the signups or before unless it's switch 2 related. Between that and the leaker that predicted the directs saying October from the start, I really think October 21st is the reveal date.
