@PikminMarioKirby I have no clue, but I can assume that after this the leaker is going to lose some credibility...

@Pastellioli
They're jamming an indie world and partner showcase into one Direct. Especially given it's just a week after another Direct showing off the museum. If they had nothing to show in September then surely one or more of these three things would've been shuffled back. September will almost surely have something

Obviously the elephant in the room is the Switch 2 reveal. It would make a lot of sense if that's the thing they're clearing space for by compacting these presentations. People have talked about how they won't announce it this early due to risking Switch holiday sales. But we're also at the point where for every presentation they do they have to remind people that there's a new console coming. They can't do that forever

For the longest time I've said October is when they'll reveal Switch 2, I'm changing my month. September is when they'll do it

@skywake maybe, I went on a subreddit and have heard some people there speculate that they are compressing these two together because Nintendo does not have enough first-party games to show that will warrant a full Direct, which is interesting if true, but it would not surprise me if they had other 2024-2025 games in development that aren’t ready to be show off yet. Of course they do have other games cooking in the kitchen at the moment.

Hm, for me, I sort of lean toward an early 2025 reveal, since I think it was reported here that the next console is not expected to release early next year, which implies a mid or late 2025 release date. I lean towards the latter more though. I think that could be what they would realistically do, since there are still a few 2025 games for the Switch both with full dates and vague dates (like the DKR port releasing early 2025 and Metroid Prime 4 releasing sometime next year) that they may not want the reveal of the next console to overshadow and reduce sales, cuz I am absolutely expecting a ton of talk about the upcoming console to overshadow a lot of the game discussion. But, a September or October reveal makes sense too. Sort of after they get these Directs out of the way.

With what specific games they will show in the Direct, someone here mentioned another Rare NSO drop in the Partner showcase, and given that it has been 2 months for the N64 NSO, I probably would expect at least one NSO title from Rare or another partner company to be announced if you look at the release schedule for NSO. Some people have mentioned Hollow Knight appearing in the Indie World direct, but I’ve seen a lot of people cast doubt on that showing up. Who knows, I can expect both might be full of surprises and new games we haven’t heard of yet!

I just want some release date info on Mina and the hallower. That was announced for switch I believe?

Someone here also mentioned a Rare NSO drop during the Partner showcase and there being at least one N64 game in there. For reference of the games on there and not on there:

Banjo-Kazooie

Banjo-Tooie

Perfect Dark

Blast Corps

Jet Force Gemini

GoldenEye 007

Diddy Kong Racing

Donkey Kong 64

Mickey’s Speedway USA

Conker’s Bad Fur Day

There are five N64 Rare games that so far aren’t on NSO. I don’t expect Speedway USA to ever be put on there from licensing issues (though maybe they could work something out like they did with GoldenEye) so I expect one of the four (sans Speedway USA) to appear on there, if there is a Rare NSO drop tomorrow and it includes an N64 game. I lean towards the ones that use original IPs (Tooie and Bad Fur Day) rather than the Donkey Kong games.

Cool. My expectations are beneath the floorboards. I assume wall-to-wall cozy, farming, simulations and visual novels. Because when I look at the release schedule that's...really all I see.

For those who asking about those PH Brazil leaks, he said some kinda Nintendo Direct for games moved to end of August which end up being Partner Showcase and Indie for September to move up plans, but looks like they even moving plans further at last minute by moving Indie to same day as ND:PS, so what the hell is going on now.
Another thing that people forget couple things about Partner Showcase. First February ND:PS end with Nintendo IP/1st party aka Endless Ocean. Second Pokémon/GameFreak is 2nd party aka partner aka just Nintendo Exclusive not Nintendo Made/1st party. So there is possibility for something beyond 3rd party stuff! But I'm still leaving my expectations for PL:Z-A news extremely low due it's still Partner Showcase and not Full or Mini regular Direct! :/

This double direct is really weird. Nintendo doing a partner showcase makes me think they don't have much to reveal, otherwise they would have put it in a full direct. But doing it in August makes me think they have something else in September since they always have a September direct. The combination indie world and partner showcase makes me think that Brazil leaker was right and they just moved up the other direct to this month for some reason. The only thing I can think of that makes all that make sense is a Switch 2 reveal in September. I was firmly in the "early 2025 reveal and holiday 2025 release" camp, but now I'm rethinking that.

Well that was unexpected. Not sure what that means for a Switch 2 reveal. If they are doing it soon, then it would have to be on one of these weeks: September 9-13, September 16-20, or October 7-11.

Part of me doesn't believe they'd do it in September and overshadow Echoes of Wisdom, but on the flipside they may want it out ahead of TGS and manufacturing starting. They also still need to do one more trailer for Zelda, an overview trailer for Jamboree, and I'd say at least a couple trailers for Brothership. Not sure how they squeeze everything in there.

Anyways, don't really know what to expect tomorrow. Release dates for Shantae Advance and Metal Slug Tactics seem likely though, as I believe both are still slated for this year.

The Switch 2 reveal situation is peculiar.

I would rule out seeing it next month but the launch of Echoes of Wisdom with its own special Switch Lite just makes it seem like an odd move. There's also the big final Splatfest which they'll probably want to attract a fair bit of attention for.

Then again, there's been a significant September showcase for the last nine years and why would Nintendo stick the Indie World and Partner Showcase together where they could've placed it in the usual slot next month which it what I was expecting our Direct treatment would be.

I struggle to see us getting another Direct before the end of the year but I'd be surprised if September comes and goes without some kind of significant announcement

I think the September general Direct is still possible. However, it definitely does seem odd that this is 2 presentations in one, as if they’re getting these out of the way for something else. If we start seeing big trailers for Mario Party Jamboree and Mario & Luigi Brothership then a general Direct would seem less likely for September which could mean a Switch Successor reveal sometime in September.

My theory was kinda correct. Nintendo announced a partner showcase and indie direct and Apple announced their Apple Event both today.

@Novamii Would love to see Crow Country in the Indie World showcase. As I mentioned earlier, I hope for release dates for Shantae Advance and Metal Slug Tactics.

As for the Partner Showcase, I think we'll see a release date for the Marvel vs Capcom Collection and more Rare games on NSO, probably Conker if I had to venture a guess. Not sure what to expect past that.

I reckon we are going to see Hi Fi Rush in the Indie Showcase and Call of Duty in the Partner Direct. Both would have previously been represented by Microsoft in a Partner Showcase...but y'know, that didn't pan out.

I'll take my tin foil hat off. (But there must be some reason why it's 2 events in 1. Something related somehow...)

@Novamii I’m not too excited about many 3rd party games, but Pac-Man World 2 Re-PAC would be awesome! I’m also intrigued about the Patrick game however it’s pretty unlikely I’d play it. It’d be nice if there was an indie/3rd party developed game of a Nintendo franchise, however that most likely won’t happen (I’d love to be wrong though!)

@Novamii I don’t really hope to see anything, but someone else brought up that they could do another Rare NSO drop alongside an N64 game, so I would maybe want to see that if there is partner NSO news in the showcase. I’ve been dying to see what the next N64 game will be, but I’ll take any NSO news from any game developer. Other than that, I don’t really have anything else. That rumored port of Hi-Fi Rush would be cool too since it’s been known info already, just hasn’t been officially announced, but I already have an Xbox to play it. I also think a port of a Rare 360 game would be cool and fitting for the Switch (namely the Viva Piñata games) but the chances of that are super unlikely. I’ll just stick to the NSO stuff.
