@FishyS For August, I could see a Kirby game. Possibly early September for Kirby would fit as well.

August/September could also see some DLC of some sort

A shadow drop at the September Direct (assuming there is one) is also a possibility.

October/November still are open slots, however I am thinking November slot is more open than the October one.

For October, we could see a physical version of the shadow drop from the September Direct, or maybe some sort of smaller game/DLC.

For November, it could be some Pokemon remake or perhaps a bigger Kirby game (if Kirby doesn’t happen in August/September) coming at mid-late November. However Pokemon would probably have to be announced pretty soon if it were to happen at all, and it’s looking doubtful. And we probably would’ve seen a main Kirby at the Direct if it was happening.

December will likely be fairly empty for new content, but probably NSO and possibly a DLC.

February/March will likely include Legends Z-A. I see Metroid 4 being somewhere between March-July for next year. Also probably depends on when Switch’s Successor releases, as they probably will not be too close to each other.

I've been thinking about Mario sports games lately... And I can't help but wonder why Camelot soft hasn't thought about remaking Toadstool Tour and release for Switch. That's the game every Mario sports fan raves about when discussing mechanically deep Mario games.

Yeah, there are people on here who had a better hit rate than that, without even claiming to have inside information.

Shall we just say that the world's favorite plumber appears to have found the source of the leak.

@DiamondCore What did Pyoro get wrong? I wasn't looking at his leaks.

Pyoro didn't say much. What they did say in the day before the direct:

1. Added additional correct details about the ACE attorney release to someone else's leak.
2. May have hinted at Mario Party? Very unclear hint no one was sure about.
3. Spent a while ranting about how they still had their sources but they didn't want to leak incorrect info.
4. Threw down a bunch of emojis I'm not sure if anyone ever successfully interpreted.
5. Mentioned Reynatis, including story DLCS and a demo. Which was not in the direct.

So a combination of correct and incorrect leaks along with some complaints and vagueness. Which.... is honestly what I expect from most semi-legitimate leakers but not previously from Pyoro

@FishyS Ahhhh. Pyoro probably got sniped in terms of leaks then. Either that, or fed false info. Interesting that most prominent leakers for Nintendo and Gamefreak are all being given false info now.

@FishyS If I recall, the emojis Pyoro tweeted were hints for a game that appeared in the Japanese Direct but not the English Direct. The game was called something like “My Summer Adventure.”

Apparently he is now considering deleting his account and there could be a small chance he will stop leaking, which is surprising, since most reliable leakers that get some things wrong usually keep leaking stuff after, but I do guess that maybe Pyoro got busted, and how some people have tried figuring out his source of info.

People are saying the e-shop was Pyro's source as there's usually a dedicated space there after a direct for people to pre-order/buy announced games.

Whilst this is still available this time, it's missing all first party games, with none available to pre-order.

Seems as though Nintendo finally wised up to his methods, which could mean he's a busted flush when it comes to being a reliable source going forward. Time will tell, I guess but this is as plausible an explanation as any I've seen so far.

FishyS

@Jalex_64 Interesting. I was wondering why there was so little in that eshop article... and ACE Attorney Investigations is one of the few things there (I would argue the only particularly interesting thing there) and also the only thing (in the English direct at least) Pyoro leaked very clearly... that article usually has a ton of new games but this time it has 3.

I wonder if Nintendo temporarily added Reynatis to the draft of that article and then removed it or something. If they did that to verify when Pyoro tweeted it, that would have been super sneaky.

@VoidofLight The fact that this is happening to Pyoro is a bit shocking, especially since this is coming shortly after another usually reliable leaker named Midori was revealed to be a faker after he got non-Sega related info wrong, not to mention it turned out he was actually another leaker named MysticDistance, who apparently got a lot of video game info wrong, did bad things and had associations with bad people and so pretended to be someone else, not to mention he apparently got most of his info from trading with other leakers and immediately ran out of leaks after the Sega presentation was leaked online last year. A LOT of reliable leakers seem to be getting fed false info as of late. Definitely could be a coincidence, but who knows? I think I heard that some companies were beginning to crack down on leakers.

@Grumblevolcano
I feel that either Switch 2 is late 2025 with Prime 4 being an early 2025 game or Prime is cross-gen. If it was Switch only I feel like they would've pushed for a 2024 release. It could well be Switch only post or near Switch 2 but ..... that'd almost be setting the game up to fail

This.
Though with the emoji thing, it apparently was in reference to some game in the JP version direct called something like “My Summer Adventure”

He got the “this will be a bit dry of first party stuff” wrong, and so it looks like he is no longer “Extremely 100% reliable” anymore

Rewatching some of the trailers from the Direct now the dust has settled. Firstly Memories in Orbit looks very good, I think it says something about the quality of the Direct that by the time we got to the end nobody seemed to mention it. Certainly a highlight, one to keep an eye on

Also I noticed in some of the discussions today people saying that the Metroid Prime 4 footage was from Switch 2. I'm fairly confident that it isn't, definitely rendered on Switch. The things they're trying to do there are well within the capabilities of the Switch and the trailer is definitely sub 1080p with no AA to speak of

Speaking of definitely running on Switch, Stray. That trailer is certainly running the game at a resolution. As I said earlier, certainly nice to see it on here and it's something I'm considering picking up for Switch. But it's definitely running on Switch in that trailer. Hopefully both this and Prime 4 get a Switch 2 bump because I think they both could take advantage of it

On the other end visually? Echoes of Wisdom I think is fine as it is. Entirely justified being Switch only for the time being. Same with DKCR. Both are, again, clearly running on Switch but neither are going to get much out of a spec bump either. And Mario & Luigi: Brothership is basically flawless visually. Can't really push that style any further than what they have

Edit, also the Metroid Zero Mission trailer. I know it's just NSO and it's a game that has been around for ages. But man, the music of Metroid. Something else isn't it

@skywake I've been on the cross-gen train for Prime 4 for awhile, but yeah that seems to have cemented it. When Retro themselves pushed out Prime Remastered while they were working on Prime 4 it sure seemed like they needed something else to work on and weren't crunching it.

I think Pyoro still has the same sources, but Nintendo internally has been more secretive about the games.

Still no first party games from the Direct really came to the eShop, even though some of them release in only a few months. This could mean Pyoro’s source is eShop.

I sincerely hope Pyoro doesn’t delete his account, he’s accurate but this Direct specifically avoided adding much to the eShop right away. He was still right. I hope Pyoro continues to exclusively use his main source only, as leaking the non-main source stuff isn’t as accurate.

Yeah, I'm not going to lose any sleep over leakers getting caught or cut off. As much as I do enjoy the speculation game and the bits of info that appears here and there. It's just generally fun talking about what could be and one of the main reasons I joined this forum and remain here

But leakers, especially in the context of video games, are just a bit stupid for doing what they do. And are also usually huge egos and generally not particularly nice people. Happy for the fun of speculation they in some ways contribute to. Not particularly upset about the inevitable consequences they face

...... the people who unpack and run through updates, patches and so forth on the other hand

I have to admit, hearing the normally synthesized "Arrival" jingle for Samus to being a choral music piece in MP4...kind of gave me an eargasm.
