If this game doesn't have any paid DLC, then I'll eventually buy it down the line, that's what I promised myself. If there is any paid dlc, then I'll just pass on it since I already want Kirby Air Riders more.
Edit: something to keep in mind is that 8 Deluxe didn't get DLC until almost 5 years after it released.

They need to add a 3 lap option to Grand Prix and online to make the game playable. Until then, they could add 100 tacks and I wouldn’t care. Just more intermission garbage. I haven’t played it since they adjusted the random track selection for online play. This game is dead to me.
I played for the first time in a little while yesterday, and man it is still so fun. I do still have my complaints with the game, but when it's just the pure racing experience, man is there nothing like it. The pure adrenaline rush of hitting those shortcuts is insane.
Edit: Also would still highly recommend joining the Mario kart world discord so you can play in lobbies. Best way to play the game by a mile.
@Bigmanfan mind dropping me a link to the Discord? I will probably play MKWolrd a ton this week, as I am going to visit family, and there is no way we will miss out on the chance to play some game together!
Doesn't matter what you do, there's always going to be a CPU driver that stays an entire football field's distance in front of you near the end that you can never catch up to xD
Hadn't played this in weeks some and my buddy stuck it on Saturday night and within 20 minutes both said to each other let's play something else because we were bored. I keep expecting it to be more fun than it is.
New Mario Kart World Update today: version 1.3.0, adds the locations of previously cleared P-Switch missions and previously collected Peach Medallions to the map.
Much appreciated update for me, since I like having a way to view what I've done in the game and knowing that I don't necessarily need to go to specific places for collectibles again.
Of course this does mean that if I ever do get this game, it will be digitally, because I refuse to get a physical game with actual game content (like the new map feature) not on the cartridge.

Nintendo are known to print new cartridges that will have recent updates available on them, and I'd expect as much for Mario Kart World.
The physical releases of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the Booster Course Pass DLC have a mixture of updates, early prints had everything up to wave 5, and later prints had wave 6.
@Nintoz From what I've been told, there is now a 50% chance of getting a 3 lap track as an option. So basically half of races there will be a 3 lap option.
Everyone will have a slightly different stance on it but I think ideally there should be two routes and 1 lap type course as part of every selection proceess. Or even 2 lap types and 1 route, I just think there should always be an option for either.
I don't want to lazily defend a game I've not played, but it is annoying people thinking that it actually matters in month 2 that hardcore Mario Kart fans (which is inherently not Mario Kart's audience in the first place) are disappointed by X or Y choice in this game that will likely still get updates 5 years from now.
Maybe because I did not buy Deluxe for 5 years because they finally made it worth my time to buy a game I already owned on Wii U, people will still be playing this in 2030, relax. This is not gonna be like Mario sports games where they give up 4 months in.
Wow I can't believe Mario Kart isn't ruined forever, I for one am shocked. (I'm looking forward to posting this every few months, because the stupid hyperbolic morons deserve to be mocked for being really annoying about a series whose reputation is carried by how good DS and 8 Deluxe are in the first place)
Nintendo realizing that they can get thousands of people back on their game just by doing a few quality of life updates with no real new content:
(Just kidding of course, I hope Nintendo continues to add QoL updates to games.)
Yeah, I think if whatever the percentage increase of three-lap courses as an option was applied in this update was applied once more, it would be my ideal, as I’m not opposed to playing intermissions every once in a while, it was just having almost all the options be intermissions was idiotic. You still play the three-lap tracks a bit too little in my opinion, since even if a three-lap course is an option it’s not a guarantee that it’s picked. I think having a three-lap option 60 or 70 percent of the time would offset that and have you play three-lap tracks about fifty percent of the time.
What would be a better option would be to just be able to play three-lap tracks in worldwides but at least the P-Switch marker addition was cool.

I'm actually more stoked to hop back on for the free roam stuff to finally get the 100%, but the 3-lap being around 50% now is a nice thing, too!
@JakedaArbok
I've thought the obvious solution from the start was to always have a 3-lap option along with 2 of the highways for every round. Simple, always gives people the choice. I wish they would just do that.

I love options, that would actually be amazing! 😃
