Legend of Zelda Presence at 6/9/2026 Nintendo Direct - Nintendo Switch 2 Forum

I'm trying desperately to keep my expectations in check for the Direct because there's so much that I hope to see, and one thing that's giving me pause is the lack of a LoZ 40th Anniversary announcement. Last year for the September Direct, they established beforehand that there would be a Mario-dedicated segment. They didn't do that for Zelda this time around (maybe suggesting that September will be when we hear about everything we've been waiting for?) I feel like if people fly into this Direct with crazy Zelda expectations they're going to come out very frustrated and it will sour the whole Direct (even though it will probably be an amazing one overall). What do we think?

Yeah, I'm really happy that the Ocarina remake got announced, but that Direct was like hitting the mother lode for a Xenoblade fan.

I’m a bit torn on Ocarina getting another run. Part of me will always be curious, because it’s Ocarina, but I also think that game survives pretty well without Nintendo constantly dragging it back onto the workbench.

If they actually do something meaningful with pacing, controls, or how the world is presented, fair enough. If it’s just shinier Kokiri Forest again, I’d probably rather see A Link Between Worlds rescued from the 3DS first.
