@FishyS I went and edited my original post like you requested!
I also want to say that as someone who’s had my own Switch 2 now for a couple of days, I haven’t experienced any noticeable issues in any of the games I tested (which is mostly JRPGs as they are my favorite genre.) Games like, for example, Atelier Yumia, which on the Switch 1 had constant hitches and stutters to the point the game would CONSTANTLY stutter and even entirely freeze for like half a second or so every time you collect a material…in a game all about collecting materials. It was certainly playable just very unpleasant. I’ve spent 5 hours with the game on Switch 2 and even though the game hasn’t received any sort of Switch 2 improvement update or anything, it runs at a COMPLETELY stable 30 fps with no noticeable drops to speak of, at least that I can notice with my naked eye. Loading times are also significantly shorter, especially the large initial loading screen after you boot the game up. It is so much better it’s comical. I only wish I had waited for the Switch 2 to come out before playing it as I played all the way until the final area on the painful Switch 1 port. It would have been so nice for the game to run like this the whole time!
That’s the one thing I’ve noticed with the Switch 2 more than anything: Looking back, I just can’t imagine how I suffered through playing games that are constantly stuttering and so ugly to look at on the Switch 1 for so many years. This is obviously an exaggeration, but it feels like I’m finally free from a prison I didn’t even realize I was trapped in.
@kerr9000 Great list, thanks! A few of the games on this thread aren't on your ist so you could add those if you wanted. Would you like us to @ you when we have new games tested? @horizonisland Any way you could link to Kerr's post at the top of the thread so they can update it periodically? You can link to a post like this: kerr9000's full list of tested games
As long as no one minds I'll look at updating the list to include stuff from the people here, and update it both here and on Grcade, might not be super quick doing this as I work weird hours and also do TikYok and stuff... I'm glad people like it
No Man’s Sky - 40 FPS in handheld according to some sources with some saying it has noticeable visual uprades but our very oen Captain Red Dog currently says it runs more like 25 FPS and is janky, Hello Games are big into fixes and updates so watch this space.
This is incorrect information. Dead Cells on Switch 1 targets 60 FPS, though it sometimes drops frames, and it includes an optional locked 30 FPS mode which you can turn on for better performance. I tested the game yesterday on the Switch 2, and it seems to reach the 60 FPS target consistently now. I didn't notice any poor texture quality either, at least not in handheld mode.
As for No Man's Sky, it did indeed get a free Switch 2 upgrade with dramatic improvements in resolution, texture quality, FPS, etc. It now has two FPS modes, one that's capped at 30 FPS and one that's uncapped. I checked some Youtube videos where people test these modes, and the capped mode seems to run consistently at 30 FPS, whereas the uncapped mode seems to fluctuate roughly between 40 FPS and 60 FPS depending on which environment of the game you're in.
@LuigiTheGreenFire I assume it will be the same as the other Xenoblade games.
I have XC 1, 2 and 3 and tested all three of them. Especially XC3 seems to be resolution and FPS locked and will need a patch for improved resolution and frame rates.
Both XC1 and 2 looked ok, but XC3 looked blurry like hell, just like on Switch 1.

Do you mean that the resolution on XC1 has improved without an update, if it looks okay on Switch 2 but XC3 doesn't? Because IIRC they both have the same resolution on Switch 1 (720p docked, 540p handheld).
@kerr9000
I know nobody here will care that much about Switch Sports but it is one of the best selling Switch titles. The fact that it supposedly has BC issues makes me think that a Switch 2 Edition or upgrade of some kind is probable. Seems like a good candidate for GameShare and could also be a good excuse to expand the range of sports

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
@Polvasti I think XC3 most likely runs at slighly lower resolution due to much more busy environments.
It has that same blurry haze effect that Zelda:BOTW had on Switch 1.
It's the character themselves that look like lower resolution giving them a jagged look, while in XC1 and XC2 the characters look more clear and sharp ( like difference between anti-aliasing and not ).
@kerr9000 You shouldn’t feel the need to update that list unless both (a) you want to and (b) you have the time to! You don’t need me to tell you this, but you don’t owe us anything. Thanks for taking the time to “port” and compile that list in the first place, even if you never update it again! Cheers.
Hobbies include eating, sleeping, playing video games, petting cats, and…actually that’s about it.

Thank you very much. I was supposed to be on a podcast today but it got cancelled so I have put a little bit of time into updating the list on both sites adding some stuff to it.... I enjoy doing stuff like this and love being a part of active forums.... I just didn't want anyone to think hey he is ignoring this he hasn't done it for a week if I get busy
Im relatively new here so just wanted to make sure im not stepping on any toes posting all of this etc, so its great to get feedback that people appreciate this list.
Dead Cells - 30 FPS cap, poor texture quality

Thanks for the info chap... The info on Dead cells comes from an unknown source so next time I edit the post I'll change it for your feedback.
As for No Mans Sky, I'll look at that a bit and either merge the feedback or as I purchased it try it myself.
Seems like some games can run but you don't get the Switch 2 games but Switch 2 game cart will not work Switch 1 gen consoles. So it's going to be based on the Publishers of the game if they work or not. But definitely Switch 2 carts will not work on Switch 1.
Lego Jurassic World feels like it’s loading faster, but (and this is also true even when playing on S1) it looks very low resolution.
Hellblade looks and plays surprisingly well. It’s obvious it’s still a bit blurry due to the work they did to get it working on the switch, but it kind of works in its favor for this one. Looks like that realistic found footage blur.
The List on the third page has now been once again updated, if anyone else would like to add to it then let me know ,I still have things I have not added but wanted to add a bit and let you all know I haven't forgotten this.
I am personally very interested in if anyone has tried Disagia 6 as that game could do with a bit of a performance lift, its the only game in the franchise I never finished.
