Square just constantly comes across as broke and incompetent
If they're unable to do any compatibility and upgrade paths, the Switch 2 version SHOULD be free for anyone who bought the Switch version.
Sea Of Stars managed to provide a free upgrade and save data transfer, Square just need to do that.
I think its cool the game is coming but I do agree, they should charge about atleast £10 at a minimum for upgrade if you already own it on switch 1,
The boost mode and turning off enemies encounters is a huge upgrade for me because those were the two things that made the game unplayable on the original switch.
It would be more cooler if other final fantasy games get switch 2 ports, any game before 16 such as 15 would be awesome if they could get switch 2 ports.
Xeno series = max hype.
Falcom series = max enjoyment.
I don't even care with Switch 2 version which I believe they are pretty much same game of Switch 1 & PS4 version, and even the PS4 version on PS5 machine was still 30 fps due to performance lock.
I'm pretty sure its not incompetence, its design. Square-Enix doesn't support upgrade patches because they don't want customers to be able to buy the Switch 1 version and then upgrade it. If customers could do that, they might communicate with their buying habits answers S-E does not want to hear, regarding keycards.
The only thing to worry about is whether or not they will include X-2 on the same cart as X or just have it dl with a digital download code as with the Vita & Switch 1 versions. Though in Japan & East Asia, FF X & X-2 HD Remastered was released separately on the Vita. I think the east asian version of FF X/X-2 HD Remastered is both included on the cart for Switch 1...can't be sure though but it seems like it.
