Topic: Donkey Kong Bananza

I think I'm going to start using this whenever I hear another braindead negative take on the redesign:

Well finally did my PreOrder for DK Switch 2 to ship. Oh and ordered second 256g exSD for now.

I’m super hyped! I’ve been really intrigued with the 2D sections they showed a bit of. I have a feeling this is gonna be a much bigger game than many of us are expecting.

@Dev-N I'm keeping my expectations leveled. I hope to see:

• More of the Underground World's locales and how this weird hollow earth environment functions
• The air cleared on the whole Little Pauline thing
• More of the Kongs(regardless of whether or not they're playable)
• More info on the villains and what they're up to
• People being less vitriolic towards the new DK design(likelihood: impossible)

I think I'm gonna completely ignore the Direct for this, I want to be as surprised as possible when I finally get my hands on it.

I doubt this will be a Mario Kart Direct situation for anyone who's apprehensive.

For that, we had already seen TONS of footage from different experience events + the treehouse with much of the full game available to play outside of free roam. Meaning a lot of nuanced details had already been sussed out because of it.

I'm fairly certain we have much less to go off with Donkey Kong so I'm intrigued to see what they have to show. I will watch it as I faith they won't be too spoilery, I watched the Mario Wonder direct and there were still a ton of surprises in that game that hadn't been publicised at all.

@Dev-N I'm hoping we see the boss fights and more of the animal buddies.

Unless this direct shows something more interesting than what they have seen I am skipping Donkey Dig Dug.

It's like a sequel compared with what was shown before. What a crazy difference. It must be a pretty early version which were shown and were playable before.

My interest were zero before but now I'm pretty intrigued. Yikes, I'm almost scared now to think how crazy the next Mario, Zelda and Monolith Soft's game on Switch will be.
Switch 2 is INDEED 10x more powerful than Switch and this is only the very beginning, so just wait another 2-3 years...

Oooh, this COMPLETELY shatters lore. So, a young Pauline would mean that they met before the arcade game, but....

That was Cranky Kong. And Cranky Kong was shown in the Direct. So, how does a young Cranky kidnap an adult Pauline, but an old Cranky is present with a young Pauline? Unless this is Cranky's grandfater?

That was a really good Direct. I mainly bought the Switch at launch for Mario Kart but since that game ended up a massive disappointment for me, hopefully this will be the one that will make my purchase feel more worthwhile. It looks very fun.

@Dev-N Its %100 a prequel to Odyssey.

Can we all agree that Bananza is basically a Disney movie? No really,not only do we have full voice acting, the game's main subplot is helping a young Pauline become a singer while also getting her back home, with a bunch of songs about their relationship.

And the graphics are insane. I usually don’t care, but dang, it looks like a Pixar movie or something.

The song combined with emotional scenes in this Direct reminds me a lot of Monolith Soft's Xenoblade trailers. Did someone from that team make the footage for this Direct? 😅❤️❤️
