So Dispatch just released, and... it's censored. The profanity has a toggle still, but the 2 very brief nudity scenes (1-2 seconds of Invisagirl topless) are censored.

So probably not the biggest deal especially if you don't want to subject yourself to such things. But imo, it's awkward when it's censor boxes rather than just skipping those 1-2 seconds and making the scene without it to feel natural.

Thankfully, there's already a mod for the Switch version (if your Switch is modchipped) that removes the censorship. Was kind of shocked it was already released. But I played it and ya, it's uncensored. No toggle to turn it off though there is a toggle for the profanity.

Game is much better than I was expecting. Hacking puzzles add to conversation choices and QTE prompts, combining to make a game that's far more interactive and engaging than anything of its kind I've played before.

@JaxonH Its a great time I think, played on Steamdeck and had a really enjoyable 7-8 hr run through.

The censorship thing is a strange one, definitely a little heavy-handed to remove the toggle... but nonetheless, having some animated boobs blurred out really doesn't impact the game at all IMO.

The management sim is really fun, and overall it was a pleasant distraction.

I was expecting something a lot more cynical, ala "The Boys", but this game/story actually has a lot of heart in it! Manages to be quite optimistic without going too corny

Ya, the profanity toggle is still there. And there's only a couple very brief 1-2 seconds scenes of nudity anyways.

So I think anyone buying the game will still get a perfectly fine experience. I don't wanna see that dude's thing anyways. A topless Invisagirl for a brief sexond at two separate times in the game isn't gonna make or break your enjoyment. At least it shouldn't

Getting away from the censorship, I like how they did their best to make it a game rather than just a branching story. That was always the Achilles heel of Telltale games, even before they started churning them out, factory-like. Your choices do actually make a difference here, even if the cut scenes are fixed and scripted.

Anyway, it's certainly not The Boys. It's more like the wackier end of Justice League. Every business's HR nightmares but with superpowers thrown in for good measure.

So why was it censored in this game but all sorts of stuff is just hanging out there in Cyberpunk?

@rallydefault The highly likely theory now is that Dispatch dev or publisher doesn't want to do two SKUs for Dispatch, and so put everything under the strictest rating board (Japan's CERO) purview so everything can just be one SKU.

This is more believable considering Dispatch's JP version on PS5 is also similarly censored.
