I think it'll be stronger than ps4 and xbone but weaker than neo and obviously Scorpio.
I don't think it really matters where it sits exactly. If it's in that sort of range of specs then it's close enough. Kinda like it doesn't really matter from game to game that the PS4's GPU is about 40% more powerful than the XBOne's. At most it's the difference between a multiplatform game dropping a few frames here or there. It's not really the difference between a game running or not running.
Zelda also supports amiibo which is a Gamepad exclusive thing for Wii U.
I like to think that they'll keep the GamePad concept entirely. I actually think it was a pretty decent controller and I've said that a few times. But if they don't then there are ways around Amiibo support. Something which they definitely won't be dropping. Could be as simple as a USB connected NFC scanner. They don't need a fully featured GamePad to do it.

Not having the NFC reader in the controller might be smarter for game play reasons. Look at dimensions, where you have different zones where you can put the figurines.
Or they could have it the controller, since the reader fits there irregardless of form factor.
Bleh, it's a vague response and he tried terribly hard to switch the subject. Although, at the moment it sounds like another Wii U minus the gimmick. Hopefully, it isn't but we'll see soon enough.
''You know, for us it's not about specs, it's not about teraflops, it's not about the horsepower of a particular system.''
Sure, he will say that it's about the content, but when specs allow for bigger, more immersive, more detailed games, then he's contradicting himself. Anyway, it's a typical Nintendo-PR statement, but one that doesn't bode well for the future...
I don't think the 20 million they are wanting to buy an NX are going to be bothered about teraflops. Zelda is very nice looking not so much because of high polygon count or textures, but because of more conventional artistic techniques like depth perspective on landscapes. It has captured such an organic grace missing from most open world games that look almost photo realistic when you see a picture of the game...but look stiff and clunky when you see them moving.
This is Reggie's comments about Nintendo, the NX and the competitors from an interview with Bloomberg West: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/with-nx-coming-nintendo-care...
That kinda makes me wonder if the NX is even going to be competing with PS4/Xbox One in terms of power, let alone the next consoles coming from Sony and Microsoft.

For the record, Reggie's comments were in regards to Scorpio/Neo, not the vanilla XB1/PS4. Won't make a difference anyway - he'd still be saying that if NX was more powerful than any PC on the market
Regardless, Nintendo trying to keep up with Sony and, to a lesser extent, Microsoft and their hardware revisions every 3 or so years would be suicide. Nintendo just simply doesn't have the people, the support, and most importantly, the marketshare to even consider that an option.
At the end of the day, they have no chance at recapturing the mainstream core audience regardless of how much third party support they get initially - those people want the AAA multiplats, and they want them on Sony and Microsoft's platforms.
I don't know about you, but I'd rather have a $200 Nintendo console with no third party support than a $500 Nintendo console with no third party support. It makes more sense for Nintendo to go for a cheap console when they already know that they'll lose third party support regardless.
I'm going to go further and say that I don't think it even matters what specs the PS4/XBOne revisions are. For a start they're still tied down to what is possible on the originals. They've made the point of saying that games made for one will run on both. So these higher end machines are just for VR and 4K. If you don't have VR or 4K then there's absolutely no reason to buy these systems.
I think probably the more important system that was announced at E3 was the XBOne S. That's the one that'll shuffle the market around. 40% smaller, integrated power supply, slightly improved specs @ $299US. That's the console spec I could see Nintendo trying to copy.

@skywake No wonder Reggae took such an interest in the Xbox One S, they beat Nintendo to the market
I am both very nervous and curious about the NX. What ever this thing is, it needs to sell well, or at least enough to get Nintendo a decent starting point for their next system to expand upon. This secrecy Nintendo has around the whole thing is starting to ring alarm bells for me, as to exactly how different it's meant to be from both previous Nintendo consoles and of course the competition and trying to chase that Wii audience again.

He got that spot on I think. He was completely right that it's not about terrorflops it's about content.
Which is exactly why they rocked up to E3 with the kahoonas to just bring 1 game and guess what Sory and Microsoft.
Game of E3 birches
So as for power meaning anything, a machine that in some ways is worse than PS3 has got the game of the year !!!!!!!
