Topic: Pokemon Remakes/ New Ideas

I wanna see what you want for pokemon games in the future.

I don’t want a port, but a improved version of Johto, not necessarily a Let’s Go.

Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver DX would also be great!

Quick question- why does everyone want a Diamond and Pearl remake?

A new version of the game boy trading card game! It was a single player rpg with similar encounters, deck building and story - and scratched that collect em all itch (while also keeping the card collecting craze alive). Please and thank you!

Also... I think something tying more directly into the anime could be cool. I feel like something that gives fan service to the show in a way similar to the recent DBZ outing would be really well-received.

New Pokemon with Battle gameplay like Monster Rancher 4.

@BabyYoshi12 Most people who still play pokemon grew up with Diamond and Pearl so they want to see an improvement in their childhood games.

I think it's partially just because that's what everyone is expecting. Red and Blue (well, Green) were remade on the GBA, Gold and Silver on the DS, and Ruby and Sapphire on 3DS, so it's very likely there'll be a Diamond and Pearl remake on the Switch. I'm not sure how to feel about it though. Platinum was my first Pokemon game and is consequently one of my favourite games ever, so a remake could be amazing, but I'm a bit nervous that it won't live up to my memories of it. In my opinion the DS generations are the peak of the Pokemon series, and while I enjoyed Shield I'm not quite as enthusiastic about the series as I was back then, so it remains to be seen whether a Diamond and Pearl remake would revitalise my love for Pokemon or just make me long for the good old DS days...

They should take a note from Resident Evil and make a photorealistic cinematic remake that changes things too much and leaves fans unhappy.

Then cancel the dlc.

No yearly releases so that they can put more effort into these games

But beside that I've been wanting DPPt Remakes for years since the Sinnoh Region is my favorite Region beside Hoenn
But my guess is that we'll see Let's Go Johto next week

@mariomaster96 Unless, they really want to surprise the hard-core fans. I really like normal pokemon more than Let's Go just because it didn't click that well with me and hard-core fans. I really hope they have a DP remake.

Because Pokemon Pearl / Diamond Remake in HD + 3D rendering will look much better than the original version on NDS with 2D looking. So, i have an excuse to skip the DS version despite the games still can be founded in my country.

DO you think the big announcement might be bringing old pokemon games from 3DS and back? I also hope that might be it ( probably not but still hoping.)

Oh yeah, and I really don't hope they make another game bout MEGA EVOLUTION. Would be cool to see Z Crystals in the dlc or next game

@Dark_Magician The Isle of Armor has nearly perfected competitive Pokemon in my opinion the last thing I want them to do is ditch the "hidden ability" mechanic as it currently is and give us a way to put or take away HAs from Pokemon. Personally I'd do this by introducing a "golden ability capsule". The regular one works for regular abilities and the golden one could do HA.

The other change I would like is a sort of "rusty bottle cap" for hyper training - to deliberately set a Pokemon IV to 0. Having min speed Pokemon is as important at times as max. But currently it's still quite hard to obtain min-speed.

Story wise I'm pretty open, but I'd like the whole game to be "wild area" free roam cameras and I want Pokemon to follow you outside their Pokeballs, like HGSS, Let's Go and Isle of Armor. I also really like the mechanic of defending your title, once you become champion.

The game doesn't need to be totally open world with complete level scaling (though that would be cool) but I would like a "hard mode or veteran mode" for experienced players. Give opposing trainers a few more Pokemon, like 3-5 instead of 1-2. Have levels that make sense for that part of the game. I remember in Sun and Moon fighting trainers with Pokemon weaker than the wild Pokemon on the route and that was just stupid.

And I'd also like at least 2 rivals, with one of them being more like Blue and Silver - cocky, arrogant and striving to be better than you. I'm tired of these super friendly, incompetent rivals. We can have one of those too - that'd be fine. But I want someone like blue, who is ahead of you for most of the game and presents challenging battles when you face him.

Finally, let's get something like a Battle Frontier type place for the post game.

@Heavyarms55 I also agree with the friendly rivals. I want something way more cocky like Blue or Sliver. I honestly forgot what battle frontier was like. Oh yeah, and let's add 2 regions in a game like GS. Please???

@Dark_Magician I hadn’t thought of that, but I think the pokemon gba games sold well on virtual console. It could help bring in revenue between releases, though we are getting 2-3 serious offerings a year plus mobile stuff.

@Dark_Magician I don't think we need a whole second region, but I'd love a substantial and meaty post game.

Honestly in my opinion the next Pokemon game will be one of three things-
-One Pokemon Lets Go Johto in the same style as the original's and just in Johto no post game Kanto part
-Two more Sword + Shield DLC honestly if its anything like the Crown Tundra I am not complaining
-Three is Gen 4 remakes first off they are next in line but if you want to get into theory territory the only fossils not available in the Crown Tundra are the Gen 4 ones (Shieldon and Cranidos)

In my opinion, increase the difficulty...
