Today I'm nervously awaiting reviews on the Switch version - it's good to see early indications here that it will be ok!

EDIT, 12:30 PM EDT

Just read PJ's glowing review and what a relief! I really was hoping for a legitimately good version on Switch as I am stubbornly avoiding buying any other consoles.

Shouldn't be long, now. Metacritic said reviews should be out about 4, so definitely not long to go.

Well, I just went for it and bought it hehe, if it's as enjoyable as previous lego Star Wars, it should be a hell of a ride. But it looks like it will be even better than that.

@blindsquarel That was my thinking as well. This one might not go down in price quite as much or as quickly as other Lego games as there's more hype around it, but I expect it will be a fair bit cheaper in the future.

While I have enjoyed all the other Lego Star Wars games, my first Lego game was Lego Star Wars for the GameCube, I will be passing on this one. It looks great even the Switch version which I was worried about but the fact that they included Disney's mockery of Star Wars films killed it for me. If they would have included those as a download that would have been fine but the fact that they are forcing that mockery on us is just b.s.

@Tasuki You could just not play them? The trailer shows you can start from any trilogy you want so presumably you could just play through Episodes 1-6 then stop there.

@Tasuki I don't know why everyone gets their knickers in a twist about Disney's Star Wars. I've only warmed up to Star Wars since Disney took over. The Mandalorian and Rogue One are fantastic, also A Force Awakens and The Last Jedi are a lot more entertaining than the eyesore prequels and even the original films aren't as sparkly when you take off the rose tinted glasses with Ewoks, the farm boy moaning he can't join the space nazis because he ends up fancying his sister and this was considered the hight of a lightsabre battle lol

Although Star Wars wasn't even the best thing Lucasfilms ever did, that was Indiana Jones! ;p

@Rambler I too am boycotting this game as they haven't included Caravan of Courage AND The Battle for Endor. Disney are out of their mind, first they have a black Stormtrooper and now they are trying to erase the space cuddle bears from the lore!!!

Fired up the game for a second before work today, and it feels very high quality thus far.

Like the voice acting and the graphics. They did a good job.

Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

A few hours in this evening, really really enjoying it. Bit confused though, once you've selected a movie it seems as though you're locked in to it, presumably until you've completed that whole movie...? I was hoping I could dip in and out of the various trilogies to keep things fresh.

It would seem, from breezing through a few levels, that the game is staggeringly huge if you do all the side missions, unlocks etc. Just the hub areas alone are rammed full of stuff to do.

This game is freaking excellent!

Seriously, I'm blown away by how good this game is. It may be a LEGO game but my goodness, it feels like the Star Wars game I've always wanted. Even more so than Jedi Last Order (which was also great, mind you, but THIS feels like the most definitive Star Wars game of all time).

It's interesting, combat is so much more fun versus prior LEGO games, the skill trees add just enough depth to make it engaging, and exploring the worlds feels like you're experiencing the movies interactively. The LEGO format actually enhances the experience, I'd argue. The levity it brings makes every custscene feel like a treat.

I'm honestly astounded at how good this game is. I've NEVER loved a LEGO game like this... not even remotely.

I grew up on some LEGO games, like LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (DS) and LEGO Harry Potter (DS). While they're both DS ports of much bigger games I fell in love anyway, the charm and sheer fun factor of the games was very impressive. Seeing how big TSS is... I'd be mad not to get it.

@jump Huh... not a single word on The Rise of Skywalker. I'm of the same opinion, honestly, even though I've had my opinion altered by 4 hour internet videos critiquing the movies. TFA and TLJ are both very good movies, and really fun watches. At least if it was just those two, or by themselves. Having a third movie meant JJ Abrams had to write himself out of a corner Rian Johnson put him into.

@TheJGG I didn’t mention Solo either but a batting average of 3/5 films is better than Lucas’ average.

Interesting take on JJ trying to make the best of Johnson’s film considering JJ’s history of setting things up with no clue on where it leads to and then messing up the finale, he started out as a writer so I’m not sure why plotting is so hard for him. Imagine how popular Lost would have stayed if he had actually planned it out or if he didn’t cut Felicity’s hair!

I love this game but it's seriously unstable.

I'm on my way from Wisconsin to New Orleans (13 hr drive) and have been playing quite a bit- the game has crashed on me 4 times now. Every single time it's been from the character select menu.

Lego games are glitchy as hell in general. It’s one of the joys of modern gaming where major releases crash and glitch out are the norm.

Did it crash every time you used the character select or only some of the time? If it's the former, that's got to be addressed in a patch.

Some of the time. But 4 times is still enough to make you nervous each time you need to swap a character.

I don’t even have the game. But if it’s one thing I know about Lego games, is that glitches are apart of the experience, embrace it.

@Fizza Nah, there's still bugs 5+ years later in most Lego games with the latest patches having not resolved the issues.
