When do you think we will get info on it and what are some features you think will be in it?
What we know (to my knowledge if you know anything else comment it below and I will add it):
There will be camera control in levels, 3 button combos (we don’t know what the buttons are), in space there are random encounters with star destroyers and other stuff depending on which episode you play, the planets are open areas, you can start with any movie, they are using a new engine, there are 5 levels in each movie and some events happen in the open world which are separate from the 5 levels in each movie (not really sure how it works), and the missions in the open world sound like they are a lot more fun.

It releasing in December, right? Knowing LEGO they will probably release a big trailer in September-November, and release smaller ones leading up to the game. I personally can’t wait. Never got a chance to play the original LEGO games and this is just the perfect opportunity!

@Apportal I don’t think they have given us an official release date. It was leaked for October 20th but I really hope that it’s wrong.

I love how all of the replies are either Shamrock, me, or the OG.

Hm, so it is. Let's try to keep this topic on topic, though.

@Shamrock I'm most excited to try out Episode III. Hopefully the climactic battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan will feel satisfying and fun.

I just hope the levels are different enough that it feels like an entirely new game. I've already played the formerly known complete saga to death. Also did they ever say if it would have voice acting?

@Zeldafan79 The newest trailer had voice acting, so that's a definite yes. The levels will be different, since they've never reused the same structure for older levels when bringing them back (eg, Geonosis in III, Endor in The Force Awakens). Plus, the story being told over the open world and within levels means those levels can be different to what The Complete Saga gave us (TT have already said the first level for The Phantom Menace is the Gungan sub exploration, for example).

@DarkRula
Sounds good to me. Can't wait!

I've been waiting expectantly since it was first announced. I bought into those interviews and those impressions of the demo and was absolutely sure this would be the best LEGO game and possibly even one of the best Star Wars games. It's certainly looking like it will be, but I feel we need a bit of raw gameplay to be absolutely sure.

From the trailer, it looks like it will be a combination of voice acting and the LEGO slapstick humor we know and love.

I hope there’s more slapstick humor

@Shamrock Is it confirmed that they've been working on it for that long? I'd have thought they would have started after the release of the Force Awakens game.

@Shamrock It's been in development three years, and the first year was exclusively working with the new engine. Dunno what Youtubers you're watching, but it definitely would not have been in development for ten years - before the sequels were even thought of. And if it was five years, there would have been very little reason to make The Force Awakens had they known they would be doing The Skywalker Saga once all the films were out.

2017 is also when most would say there was a drop in quality for LEGO games in general. They're all still great, but from my experience haven't had any new hooks that make the games different from others in terms of mechanics. There's also fewer games released in this period compared to the last, with ports being released to make up for that. And the reason for that is one team being fully committed to the new engine and whatever game would first be built for it (which is Skywalker Saga).

We're all very excited for the game, clearly, but let's not exaggerate how long it has been developed for.
