I have multiple Switches and only one can no longer access Wi-Fi after the system update. I've done everything I can find online other than a factory reset. Hoping someone has a different solution.
Error Code: 2110-1100
Restarted
Restarted with hard restart
Reset router (this wouldn't be it, as the other Switches have zero problems)
Tried connecting to mobile hotspot
It is like it cannot see ANY networks. Like it is in airplane mode, but it isn't.
After additional testing, the wireless thinks it is in airplane mode. Error code 2203-0023 (which returns nothing in searches)
I'm afraid I don't have a solution for you - but I can attest that what originally got me into the NL forums way back when was a wifi issue that cropped up immediately after a system update. My problem was not the same as yours, and other people have reported other issues too; the only commonalities seem to be (a) the issues all pertain to internet connectivity (specifically wifi), and (b) the issues all seemed to start after a firmware update. Unfortunately, the issues do not seem to be common enough that anyone has been able to offer any solid advice on the matter. I know that for me the issues just seemed to...fix themselves (?) after a couple days.
Here's the thread I originally posted on the matter, for reference. I put a few links in the original post to other forums in which people had reported similar issues, and a few people commented on this post also reporting some types of issues. https://www.nintendolife.com/forums/nintendo-switch/wifi_conn...
(Please do not comment on this thread, lol; let's let it stay buried.)
ETA: so, I guess the rumours were true, and the NoA forums have been killed? The specific forum links in that original post no longer work; they all just redirect to the general support homepage.
I probably have one of the only Nintendo accounts in the world to be able to redownload both the software called 'Sega Mega Drive Classics' and the software called "Sega Ages: Lightening Force."
If you send me a friend request, please @ me so I know who you are. Cheers!
I've done additional testing and realize my Switch is treating the wireless as if it is in airplane mode. Bluetooth works, but not wireless. When I go to add a friend and search locally, it gives me an error code that doesn't exist.
@buggysdad Don't you love it?😁 The Nintendo support page doesn't have a result for the new error code. Fortunately, you are in the US, where Nintendo has a good support line that's fairly easy to get a real person on the phone. I've used it myself. They also have a convenient chat messenger, but I'm not clear if it's a real person or a bot. Once, I did talk to a real person via chat, by more recently, the canned dialog looked more like a bot. You can try plugging the code into the nintendo support chat messenger, which is easy. If that doesn't work, you can call nintendo, and ask one of their nice reps to tell you what your new error code means. I've called them myself regarding an error code, and they told me, and we resolved the issue.
The phone & chat messenger are only available during Seattle, WA workday hours. They've actually got nice people on the phone line, not outsourced baloney - true story. To streamline things, have the support page booted up on a computer when you call, in case they point you to a page of directions. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/contact
I talked to online chat and over the phone. Both tried to walk me through what I had already done. Once they realized the issue was Wireless thinks it is in airplane mode, so when it searches for networks, it doesn't really search... they said to send in for repair.
I'm still trying to force a reset on the wireless before sending in. 2-3 weeks without the Switch AND probably losing all of my data sounds like a huge pain.
Yeah, Nintendo support is pretty thorough on covering most things. I've learned, if you can't resolve something with Nintendo support directions, it likely means there's a hardware failure somewhere, and repair is needed. This is the first I've heard of the wifi issue, but I won't pertend to know all. There are a smattering of people that had to replace the game card slot, or fan.
Well, if they are repairing the wifi part, I would think memory stuff will be left alone & game saves won't be lost? If they said game saves could be lost, that might be a blanket statement they give for liability reasons. As far as I've heard Nintendo does repair things with parts.
If you were motivated, and can do it, you could buy a lan adapter for the Switch and plug internet into the dock. I mention this in case you want to back up your game saves to Nintendo Switch Online cloud(paid subscription service). Note, some games are not compatible with the cloud save backup system. Here's the list of games not supported by NSO cloud save backup: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a...
@buggysdad Hey I found this thread after searching for the error 2203-0032. I have the same problem, I cannot detect any WiFi and cannot send friend requests with the search for local users button.
Here is a link to my reddit where I tried asking for help.
I have not solved the problem but maybe we can try to work together to fix this?
@RolyPaulie sadly, after talking to online chat and three different phone reps - including advanced support - the solution was to send it in. They were unfamiliar with the error and couldn’t fix it over the phone.
I did everything other than full factory reset (initialize and wipe all data).
I did initialize while keeping personal data. That was a mistake and will probably lead to my ACNH data being lost.
