I bought a copy of Super Mario Sunshine for gamecube on ebay and it works perfectly fine except the game is SO BRIGHT. I know it's supposed to be pretty bright because it's sunny 'n all that but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be THIS bright. I can't attach images but to give you a picture of what it's like, in some cutscenes I can barely see anything except a bunch of white blobs, even when I turn the brightness on my TV way down. Is this normal? Gameplay footage I see online is way dimmer. I tried Sonic Adventure 2 to check it wasn't the gamecube that was the problem and it was fine, so what's up with this? Is the disc scratched? How would that affect the brightness? Is it because it's the PAL version? Is it supposed to be this absurdly bright and I'm just overthinking it?
Well it's certainly a bright and sunny-looking game, but if it's so bright you can't see the cutscenes properly that doesn't sound normal. I have the PAL version too and it's fine so I don't know why that could be happening. Is there any kind of in-game setting to adjust brightness?
I know the game gets brighter as you collect more Shines, and you eventually unlock a pair of sunglasses that dim the game a bit, but what you are describing doesn't sound normal. Unfortunately, I have no idea what would be causing this.

@MrMoomooface Sounds like there's a problem with the game itself, then. My only guess is that it's a pirated copy...last I checked, the picture looked totally normal on my copy. Other than that, I have no clue as to why that's happening.
There's a way to have images on your posts, too. I go to Postimages and upload my pictures there. Copy the url that just has the image, then paste it like this:
