My son was playing Hollow Knight. After upgrading all fragile charms to unbreakable, he banished the Grimm troupe and spoke to Leg Eater. After resting at the bench in that room, he left and came back in to see if Leg Eater has disappeared, then his game crashed and now we cannot load his save file. Whenever we try, we get the error "The software has closed due to an error." I have tried restarting the Switch, uninstalling/reinstalling the game, checking for updates, and scanning for corrupted data (the Switch tells me no corrupted was found.) I'm out of ideas of how to fix this, any one has any fixes?
If it's a glitch tied to the save data: Generally speaking with games, if this happens, there's few options. If the game allows it, try a previous save point, or try loading another area of a game. If you can't do these things, then unfortunately, starting a brand new playthrough is probably the only fix left. And yes, that means losing your progress.
As a test, you can try opening & playing the game with a different switch user profile to see if that works. If that works, that's a good indication that your issue was a glitch tied to your save data. Scanning for corrupted data often doesn't detect or solve this sort of problem.
You can't fix this issue the best you can do is play on another save til Team Cherry fixes it. They already said they are deploying the patch to other platforms so its gonna take a week or 2
