I'm all paid up and have downloaded the N64 and Gamecube apps with no problem, but when it comes to the SNES nope, nothing no downloads?? do I have to pay some extra money, or is there a process I'm not doing.. just can't figure out what the problem is myself.
EDIT:
Aargh! infuriating, Nintendo support is closed.. all I want to do is play some old Snes games on a service I have paid for! are Nintendo going to give me any money back, of course they aren't.
If you go to the NSO app at the bottom and navigate to SNES and click through you'll be taken to a download page for the SNES app
There is no NSO app at the bottom? just a logo of the SNES and a list of games, exactly the same as it was for the Gamecube and N64 downloads.
I am not doing anything different, I am just clicking on the SNES logo and it is not downloading if I click on a game it is then going to the Nintendo account page and after that 'This page cannot be displayed'
Weirdly after trying this and exiting the eShop none of my games were showing up on the main menu I had to reboot the console for them to appear again.
I think this whole thing smells of a problem with the hardware, surely it shouldn't be so difficult just to access some SNES games on online and the games not showing up is just a mystery.
Thanks for that but it's still not working, it's asking me to select my download destination, I'm confirming it and it's doing absolutely nothing, no downloads on the Switch 2 either.
This is just crazy now, why can't I access games I have bought and paid for?
Guess I'm just at the mercy of Nintendo now then, I do know one thing though, that I'll never be ordering anything from their online services ever again after this shambolic mess.
Ahh.. the joys of digital gaming!
What exactly is the problem? Can't you find the SNES App?
I can find the SNES App and I'm clicking away at it, it's just not doing anything!
What about the other apps? Does this also happen on NES, Gameboy and the others or only on SNES specifically?
I Haven't tried yet but I will..
EDIT: OK I've just tried downloading the other apps and the NES works but the Gameboy and Gameboy Advance doesn't it's just completely random what it is 'choosing' to let me install.
This keeps getting worse.. now I can't contact Nintendo Support as they continuously say they're closed for the holiday!
I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, but Nintendo support is open a fair amount of hours every day so you should be able to contact them.
@Dhaladog log in to your Nintendo account. On the search bar. Type snes app and free download.
Or
Go to the shop from your switch and search snes app and it will be the first to pop up. Free download.
You need to have a active NSO membership
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
Presumably you've tried rebooting (a proper reboot, not just putting it to sleep) and trying again? I saw a similar issue online with the original Switch - it needed the user to uninstall the NES app and reinstall before it would let them install the SNES app. Worth trying to uninstall any of the other NSO apps you have, reboot and trying again. You don't actually need an active NSO sub to download the apps as far as I remember either - I downloaded the Japanese apps with an account that doesn't have NSO

This answer reminds me of the famous TV series "The IT Crowd":
"Hello, IT, have you tried turning it off and on again?"
Dhaladog, after a few weeks since your last post, did you manage to fix the problem? what was the solution? did dmcc0's solution work?
