Cmon Rare. Go back to Nintendo. I, personally, would love Kameo 2 on Wii U. Imagine how easy and fluid it would be to switch characters and all by tapping. New updated graphics. Old Elementals come back, with new abilities. New puzzles and a bigger world to explore. Make it happen.
Beyond reviews gaming journalism is hard to do. The person is such a fan its hard not be biased. Happens in the tech field to a lesser effect as well.
Hoping box media's game site gets away from that and takes the best from the current big gaming sites and the reporting of their sister site the verge.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
Truthfully even if they did go back to Nintendo its a whole different company now from the Rare of the N64 days. None of the people who worked on GoldenEye and KI are even there anymore heck even the brothers that started it no longer have anything to do with it.
I mean if they did go back to Nintendo we could get great games again but we can also get a bunch of shovelware as well.

That's why real journalists (ie. not gaming journalists) do degrees at university, which involves ethics courses, where you learn that being biased is unethical.
Broadly speaking there, and if you look at the tabloid news out there, there's plenty of "qualified" journalists that are just bad, but it's just embarrasing that the most highly regarded gaming publications out there, with one solitary example, are scraping the sludge off the bottom of the barrel to find their "writers."
I think Microsoft. They should've given them a little more opportunities and guidance for Rare. Like, pick your thing. Our goal: the goal. But did they? No. Instead they did the give 'em the crappy games for their to-do list approach. Could they shine? Not really. However, they had a couple opportunities, though they deserved more. On those, they usually screwed up. Too bad. It's a shame they are like this. Hopefully, they recover. Each one (Rare and Microsoft) should do their part to fix things.

So uh, journalists who write opinions and columns are unethical? Also, everyone is biased, even you. To heck with ethics
Opinion pieces and columns are a different matter. Those should be marked very clearly as such in the article (it wasn't in this case) and substantiated with factual evidence.
In no way did that article qualify why Rare was dead, it just made the assumption it was.

Eh, maybe it's the journalist in you but you always must analyze everything to a pulp

Can you imagine Rare and Retro under Nintendo. That would a killer combination!
the only way rare can be rescued is if nintendo bought them out from microsoft. i'd like to see killer instinct, become nintendo's flagship fighting game, like capcom has with streetfighter and namco with tekken. which nintendo hasn't really had.
Then what the **** is Super Smash Bros?
smash bros is a fighting game, but not a traditional fighting game like street fighter, tekken.
