Topic: When did you first join NL?

2009. I joined after a bit of forum hopping when the forum I used to frequent before this one died. It was around that period where there was a mass exodus from forums to Facebook. I figured I was into Nintendo stuffs and this was one of the more casual Nintendo fan forums at the time so started posting

I don't think there was anything particularly exciting happening around 2009 but I was definitely pretty involved in the 3DS speculation threads......

I joined in 2013, back when I was in University. I think I just looked up "Nintendo News" one day and this was the first website to pop up, and it just kinda stuck. I don't really use this site for news anymore though. I've found turning on notifications for certain Twitter accounts is much better for finding out gaming news as soon as it happens, although that's really all I use Twitter for. I still lurk around this site regularly to read some feature articles engage in the comments every now and then.

@CactusMan Oh boy, I know the feeling. Gentle and nice is the only way to describe everybody here when compared to other websites.

I can only describe other communities with words like vile and ratchet. You will find a lot of negativity here, sure, but at least for the most part it seems like reasonable discussion and not gross personal attacks which come from the absolute bottom of projected insecurities.

Tasuki

@Varkster The problem with Anti-Matter is he wants everything to change for him but he doesn't want to change for anyone else. He tries to force his opinion on others even when it's a minor opinion then he gets mad when you point it out to him. He thinks because he likes or wants something everybody does too or should.

@Tasuki I sadly, have to agree with you there. The dude would actually get rid of optional crossovers, Just because he doesn't like M Rated games.

I joined back on 2019, A day after the 4th of Jul. I was a lurker for about a year tho, And this was were I got all my Nintendo news, old and new, I didn't really care for the people here around that time, but one day I was just, I felt like I was here long enough and I made an account, I also needed some help with my 3ds, which, turns out it was just, Ruined.

But I still wasn't apart apart of it, Thanos fixed me straight and thanks to Tasuki Taunting me about a dumb post I made, And Eels support, I kinda stuck around.

My user name was different and I only picked this name as a role play for a month, well, what do you know, I ended up as the guy you know today (Or you don't LOL)

My god you asked me when I joined not for my NL life story LOL.

Started reading the site in 2011, joined in 2012. I miss when Nintendolife reviewed Nintendo's systems (or atleast I think they said they did) was a nice way to get to see smaller games I otherwise would have overlooked.

I joined January 2019, though I used the site well before that as a news resource after a friend introduced it to me. Been following this site since the later years of the Wii U and 3DS.

I stuck to these forums because honestly, they're much friendlier than other gaming forums I've been to. Got bullied over liking games that weren't close to that perfect 10, or enjoying an occasional cartoon tie-in game. Here I feel like I can be myself when it comes to talking about games.

Now I'm curious which name this was and if we spoke in the past during my first year here, lol. I've come to know you as Snatcher, though, I thought the name originated from a Sega CD game.

I'm pretty new. Joined as a user in June but was a casual viewer of the site for a few months before.

Hope you're having a good day.

Anti-Matter

I joined on 16 May 2016 after i found Nintendolife website several months ago from my 3DS XL when i was using my 3DS XL to browse from internet (at that time i didn't have a smartphone to type properly so i used my 3DS XL to browse Nintendolife website).
I picked Anti-Matter as my username since i am a huge fan of Dance Dance Revolution and Anti-Matter was one of DDR X2 Boss song (BPM = 100 , 200, 400).
When i was first time joined here, i was really a Nintendo fanboy and really hating PS4 & PS3 for too many adult games and lack of kids games during that time. But as years goes by, i ate my word about hating PS4 & PS3 for no reason due to lack of information about their games library and now i have a lot of PS3 & PS4 games after i expanded my gaming horizon with never before played games but still following my gaming rules.

@Anti-Matter Glad you posted this in a responsible way, honestly you always struck me as a very interesting individual and sometimes you honestly give very thoughtful strong opinions.

I don't agree with you 70% of the time but I genuinely look at your posts and think "huh, that's such a different perspective " most of the time.

This community is full of very different people with very different tastes and that's what makes me feel great being a part of it.

I was a Nintendo Life reader back in around the early 2010s. I did have an older account there, but I just didn't use it that much, nor do I remember my username. Like @Varkster I stopped reading at around 2013 or so, since many news articles and their associated comment sections were rather...upsetting, to say the least. Especially when it came to the Wii U. I made my new account on June 3rd, 2018, when the Switch was out for a year. Started to post more often as time went on - a good number of people on the NL boards are all quite nice and chill, which I really, really appreciate. When Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a few months old, I started to play and communicate with others that would post on the thread here on the NL boards. That community was just what I needed, especially during those trying times.

@Anit-matter I'm glad you are still here mate. If we were all the same, this site would get pretty boring pretty quickly!

I joined when I got my Wii U. Umm...a long time ago lol. Honestly, this site and the community were absolutley brill during a rather dry period for Nintendo gamers (and it's so ace to have Thom back on the staff!). Everyone certainly hasn't disappointed during the Switch era. Please remember, if I ever disagree with anything it never means I hate you (but always reserve the right to be a cheeky monkey O.<)
