Right now? Meals on Wheels driver. Old people sure talk a lot of crap to people that handle their food. Not smart. On weekends I work at a call center for an insurance company, which has been helpful in making me realize how much I despise insurance companies.

Yay, lawyer. Boo, lawyer. It happened purely by accident, i assure you.
Did your best friend defend you in a classroom trial?
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Hard to describe; I'm part of the "institutional research" arm of a university, specifically making sense out of a ton of data, programming various bridges to pull everything together, and establishing a series of web services for reporting and related matters. I'm often at the midpoint between the faculty and the administration, which means that I deal constantly with internal politics.
I'm also working on my PhD in education policy, in the few hours left outside of that full-time+ job.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I'm currently unemployed, but before I was a distributor for doors and hardware. It was a miserable job, but it paid well. I lost that job over a year ago and have been unemployed for the last seven months, but I just recently started getting studio work to record drums for bands that need a drummer. It's hit and miss work, but it's getting more consistent. If I had a normal 9-5 job, I wouldn't be free to do this which is what I've wanted to do with my life for the last 10 years.
I'm a qualified game programmer working solo on my own "indie" game at the moment. I plan on entering a post-grad degree in interactive media design and production in the near future.
God of Fear. I basically make sure all you peeps get your socks knocked off once in a while.
Lol, joke, I'm just a student. I do sometimes help around with odd jobs down the street or so, but that's all. EDIT: Secondary school student that is, in my finishing year before college, but I'm actually rather young, too young to have a part-time job.
I'm a freelance artist. It's what I've always wanted to be. I'm just starting out though so it doesn't really pay but it's still awesome to do what I've always wanted, even if I do have to get a second job.
Trying to get a job in higher education doing international admissions/international student programming (like study abroad type programs). Currently working doing some marketing/event planning on a way too part-time basis (but at least it's for a university now...hopefully my foots in the door enough). It's been a pain in the butt finding a full time job.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Quit my job before Christmas and have been sitting on ma butt since. xD I am looking for something new, but I'm pretty comfy atm and in no particular rush. I imagine I'll end up back in an office at some point, wrestling with spreadsheets and boring boringness. Yawn. :/
I'm studying Physics and Astronomy and I'm a waiter. I'll just see how it goes when I graduate, and I'll either go into physics or comedy. It's a well established career path!

Zzzzzzzzz.......
I kid, of course. I'm sure your job is plenty interesting, but that description made it seem awfully dry.

Rephrase: In the imperfect, chaotic world of a university and its data, I help make the dreams of the upper administration possible (adherence to standards, uniformity of practices, transparency and accountability, etc), sometimes thereby drawing the ire of the faculty.
Rephrase 2: Nonsense comes in, reasonably meaningful information comes out, but some stepping on toes or challenging the status quo comes first.
Rephrase 3: I don't really know what I do. I end up on every kind of project you can think of, but somehow it all involves improving transparency or internal reporting of data.
PS: It's dang hard for me to answer the "what do you do?" question at a bar, as you can see.
