Topic: What Term Do You Use For Completing A Game?

Beat, finished, clocked, or just plain old completed?

I've always said clocked, and this is the term used by peeps around here. (England)

What do the Yanks say?

Beat the game. Also, what's a Yank? Like a yankee? 'Cause I don't like Yankees.

Yank = American.

Although I think if you are American, a Yank is someone from the New York New England area.

Or something.

It's a non-offensive term for Americans anyway, similar to Brit, Aussie, etc.

Depends on the level of beating it for me. I say I beat it if I made it through the last level. I completed it if i found all the nifty side stuff too, and I conqured it if I can zip through the game with ease and get all the goodies on the hardest difficulty.

Also, is Limey considered a derogatory term? if so, I'm sorry for typing it.

If I get the credits, in most cases it's beaten.

If I do all there is to do, it's completed.

Close enough. I consider a Yankee anyone who lives above the Mason-Dixon line. But that's another topic for another time.

I've always used the same terminology as Backloggery. If I just got to the credits in the game, I call it "beat", but if I did everything there is to do in the game, it's "completed"
