Topic: What Gaming Clichés do you Enjoy?

So, as the title asks, are there any gaming clichés that you want to stay around?

I for one have always enjoyed it when your character has an evil/dark counterpart. Yes, it can be really corny in some cases, but I always get a kick whenever a new Shadow, SA-X, or Dark Pit hit the scene, no matter how many times it has been done before.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I did notice a cliche in Japanese games: the villain snaps his/her finger to get something to appear

I love the boss battles where both you and the boss can take quite a bit of damage but the boss still takes a ton more hits and effort to defeat. No More Heroes is a great example of this.

Multi-stage boss battles. Where the boss starts out doing one thing, but 33% of health later, it does something completely different. The last 33% it does something even more different.

Goichi Suda's great at those. Lollipop Chainsaw is my favourite.

I love it when bosses just throw their weaknesses at your face or do moves that expose them just because.

Oh, and half naked buff m- Er I mean, Bikini Chainmail.

Especially when the first part is a normal duel type boss against a regular human, before they transform into a massive entity. I believe that's called the "One Winged Angel". Never gets old

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
