Today is the 20th anniversary of Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins releasing in America, the game in which the greedy plumber debuted. From embarking on looting expeditions in foreign lands to running his own video game company, Wario is one of the most popular characters in Nintendo. He was created by Gunpei Yokoi, designed by Hiroji Kiyotake, and was eventually voiced by Charles Martinet, who still voices him today.
By all accounts, Wario began as a rather sinister character, just watch this and you'll know.
Other than his personatlity, Wario hasn't changed much as far as physical appearance, with only short sleeves being any consistent alteration. Other times he had an explorer hat and a white or yellow suit on. So what are your favorite memories of Wario and his games?

Really wished Treasure would do a Wario World sequel, enjoyed that game. (mainly the bosses, lol)
Ah well, maybe on the Wii U, then again I'm fine with the Land games as well. (and the WarioWare games)

Happy anniversary Wario! God, I love the Wario Land and WarioWare series.
Also, am I the only one who wishes they'd do a special edition Wario Land equivalent to Mario All Stars or that Kirby collection on Wii? Maybe a WarioWare one too, since the 3DS is capable of pulling off all the tech gimmicks the series has ever used.
Happy 20th Wario! Doesn't seem that long ago when I played his first starring role in a videogame, but 20 years sure does put it in perspective. Keep on hoarding and munching on that garlic.

He's easily my favorite Mario character. I just love that in the generally happy-go-lucky Mario universe, Wario is completely unapologetic about being a greedy, rude, narcissistic slob.
He's repugnant, and unrepentant about being repugnant. I dig that.
