Hello again, this time the topic is about video games that were or are really good but were underrated or the sales were not as expected
i'll start
I had this game when i had my gba i think it was really fun and the gameplay and music were pretty good it could have been an a good franchise for nintendo sadly it didn't sell that well. I just hope someday nintendo decides to make a sequel.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. This game was a great piece of Survival/Horror, and shows the new action/shooter-oriented entries how survival/horror is really done. Any single monster can kill you, if you're not careful, but some are better at it than others. Some are just downright terrifying, like the Abyssal Horror that can be in any room at any time during the Edward Roivas chapter, and just so happens to be invisible half the time, and invincible until you find a way to kill it.
This game is dark, and presents a playful turn on the Sanity Meter found in many Lovecraftian horror games. This one screws with the player, however, far more than that of Amnesia. In this game, low sanity can have adverse effects ranging from bugs crawling across your screen, the game muting itself, or even a fake out cutscene where the character dies in an unnaturally gruesome or amusing way, only to be awoken to find they'd never entered the room, in the first place. But the best/worst effect of all is...
When you play to anywhere in chapters 9-11, the game can randomly and on any given occasion, tell you that instead of saving your files, you're deleting them. It will trick you into thinking you've screwed yourself, but it's just a Sanity effect, and it can only happen once in the entire game. Even if you replay the game, so long as it's aware you've seen that effect before, you'll never see it again. Very nice troll touch, and good for avoiding the painful "seen it already" reaction.
This was a great Gamecube game pushed into rarity and obscurity by lack of interest. Too bad, too. This game was always pretty amazing. There's been word of a spiritual successor and even a kickstarter campaign by Precursor games in an attempt to revive their new/old game. It was, however, unsuccessful and the successor, Shadow of the Eternals, now rests in gaming purgatory until someone pays for development.
This.
A really solid but unappreciated beat'em'up. Easily the best thing the Legend of Spyro trilogy has to offer, and a really good game in general. It's too bad that they put this title out in 2007 when I imagine the GBA was pretty much dead...
I'm sure there are MANY underrated or unknown gems out there, but I can share the ones I've personally played.
Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon (DS)
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (Gamecube)
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn (Wii) > These 3 games were mostly unknown until Awakening- most haven't played them
Beyond Good & Evil (Gamecube)
Metroid Other M (Wii) > possibly the most underrated game of the 7th generation
Sin & Punishment 2: Star Successor (Wii) > you owe it to yourself to pick this up- it's like $10 new on Amazon
Klonoa (Wii)
Battalion Wars (Gamecube)
Battalion Wars 2 (Wii)
Pandora's Tower (Wii) the most overlooked of Operation Rainfall trilogy
Red Steel 2 (Wii) > one of the best, if not the best, 3rd party exclusives on the Wii
Starfox Assault (Gamecube) > often overshadowed by Starfox 64, this is in every way a fantastic game
Ikaruga (Gamecube) > developed by Treasure, the same responsible for Sin & Punishment 2: Star Successor
Okamiden (DS) > as under rated as it's big brother on PS2/Wii is, this one is even more obscure, and harder to find
F-Zero GX > beheld as the greatest racer of all time by fans, it sold less than 700k, meaning many haven't played it
Wonderful 101- very poor sales, meaning few Wii U owners have played it other than devout fans in the know
Cave Story 3D (3DS)
Fractured Soul (3DS eShop) > easily one of the best games on offer digitally for 3DS
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

I definitely agree with Pandora's Tower, Starfox Assault, and Okamiden.
Pandora's Tower tends to be overlooked as it was the last of the Operation Rainfall trilogy and arguably the weakest. That doesn't make it bad, but people tended to think that for some reason.
Starfox Assault gets criticized for its ground levels and for not being more like Starfox 64. I liked the ground mission though, and the flying missions were even better than the ones in 64 to me.
As for Okamiden, while it's big brother tends to get praise and recognition as a cult classic, this little gem is forgotten. No, it wasn't quite as good as Okami, but it added a lot of new things that make it stand out.
Metroid
While this game did sell well enough to generate a major series, I feel the game today deserves to be discussed in the same league as Super Metroid. What I really appreciate about Metroid is how intense its world is and how each chamber Samus enters feels like a test to survive. That feeling is especially strong early on or if Samus happens to fall in action, where the hunter is left with just 30 energy. At that level, the player's platforming, shooting and use of upgrades really matter more than any other entry. One mistake could be another setback easily. The Ice Beam, Bombs and Screw Attack in my opinion have their best showcase. With enemies being able to follow Samus through doors in this entry, it's really critical to make sure to freeze an enemy to ensure safety. Without crouched aiming, Bombs make dealing with grounded foes like the Geemers much easier. Diagonal aiming's exclusion makes the Screw Attack that much more important to deal with enemies that are crossing into spots where Samus may not be able to get a decent shot off. Fans consider the game as aging badly for some of these exclusions, I feel the game is special because of them and feel like the basic combat is actually more diverse as a result.
Metroid Other M
My opinion of this game is basically the polar opposite of the opinion of most of the vocal Metroid fans. I am not a person that feels linearity is a negative aspect of a game's design. It'd be difficult to be a fan of Super Mario games if I felt that. I do not think the game in anyway ruined Samus Aran's character, in fact I think this is the best showcase of Samus in the series. Whenever she had a moment where she could've quit, she came back and dealt with the obstacles before her. For that, I feel she is shown as stronger. The attention to franchise details throughout the game and the extent of the franchise the game covers is very impressive to me. Unfortunately details like adolescent Ridley roaming Sector 3 and the update method of Samus's Varia Suit were dropped out of this game's harsh criticisms. Overall, I would definitely discuss Other M as one of my Top 5 Metroid experiences.
Metroid Prime Hunters
Pretty much polar opposite with the majority with Metroid Prime Hunters too, considering I place the game as Metroid's best. I play Hunters with the right-handed stylus mode selected, a lower end sensitivity and have the system supported to an extent in both hands. It always baffled me why gamers so use to supporting a handheld with both hands would completely abandon the behavior in favor of only using one hand for support. I hardly have control issues while I play, and for most Metroid fans I simply think they weren't holding the system properly. Just like my comment about Other M's linearity, I don't find repetition to equate to bad game design. Again, I look at Super Mario and have no problem with the three star, flag pole scheme to level designs, why should I have a problem with questing for three artifacts and facing a lethal mechanism for an Octolith? Atmospherically, I feel Hunters nails it. It's the only Metroid game to be able to link its music, setting and backstory on a room to room basis. It's definitely not a title that deserves to be ignored in Prime Series discussions.
@ShanaUnite My god.. There is someone else who likes Lost Magic. I love that game and completely agree. Totally underrated. Ubisoft needs to make a sequel for the Wii U.
I also agree with @ugxwolf ED is one of, if not my favorite Survival Horror. I just beat it again in January. Love it.
One of my favorite and underrated classics would probably have to be Beyond Oasis and it's sequel. They're great games.. similar to Zelda accept you can summon companions like Efrit, Shadow.. usually elemental based creatures. It's awesome. The one for Sega Saturn was pretty challenging, don't think I ever even beat it.
Apparently, this game sold pretty horribly. This game is amazing, though. Not only did I just enjoy creating microgames, but it also taught me some of the basics of programming. (Well, I think it did)
Not first party, but still, this game just never really got a community, which I think is a shame. I really enjoy building my own coasters. There is a website for sharing QR codes, but the last time it was updated was sometime last summer.
