Which Nintendo games do you think are better than some let on?
For me, it's the DS Zeldas, and Super Mario 3D Land.
As for the DS Zeldas, they do each have some issues (PH moreso than ST), and they may not be at the level of masterpiece, but there is certainly nothing bad about them either. The biggest complaint I hear is about the controls, but they aren't a problem at all (I never had a problem with them. If you were, you probably weren't doing things right).
A lot of people say SM3DL was way to easy and uninspired, and while I'll agree that it wasn't at the "Galaxy" level, it was certainly better than the NSMB games. Both were easier than SM3DL, and followed an even more predictable theme pattern, by featuring worlds with specific themes.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Just because it has a cartoony art style it doesn't mean you automatically write it off. The art style went perfectly with the game. I can't imagine playing the wind waker if it looked like the OOT. People love to complain about the sailing but it makes that game so much better. I always thought the sea was great because of the amount of exploration. Isn't that what people said SS lacked. And while it was easier among zelda games it still is my favorite game of the series. Not to mention the camera quest when the old guy makes sculptures. I just think people should be less judgmental of the wind waker, yes it was easy, yes it looks kiddy, and yes sailing can get tiring. But it's still a great game. Which just so happens to have my favorite zelda track ever - the great sea.
All of them no one appreciates Nintendo as much as they used to all they like is FPS
Digitaloggery 3DS FC: Otaku1 WiiU: 013017970991 Nintendo of Japan niconico community is full of kawaii! Must finish my backlagg or at least get close this year W...
Formally Square-enixFan, Neo-GeoFan. A lover of fine games and handheld systems!!!!!!!!!! The New 3DS XL is amazing, soon the NX will be upon us! Backloggery Check my Youtube channel out! http://www.youtube.com/user/Ha...
Do I personally think games like Majora's Mask, the Oracle series, StarTropics, Pikmin and Pikmin 2 warrant a little more love and support? Yeah, probably.
But I have a hard time thinking of many Nintendo games that have truly been forgotten and don't have, at the very least, a vocal group the will tell you exactly why they think those particular games are great. Even Zelda II and Phantom Hourglass, probably the two least popular games in the Zelda series, have fans that absolutely swear by them.

I usually cannot stand running around doing nothing for long periods of time, but I tell you what, there would be days were I would pop in the game JUST to go sailing. The music, the sound of the waters splashing, everything about it was great! Also, I'll never forget the amount of backlash the game got when they first showed it off. When the game came out...WOAH the backlash was high.
Two words: Drill Dozer. One of the best GBA games out there, but it came out too late and so was sadly ignored by most. Really, it's sad that Game Freak rarely gets a chance to make what they're really good at - platformers - and when they do, it gets ignored. Really, really sad.

It's one of the most loved platformers in recent years, I highly doubt it belongs in this thread.
Same goes for 3D Land. That game gets more love than it even deserves, let alone being "underapreciated".
And don't even get me started on the fact that Wind Waker is here...It's the only Zelda that gets Sequels. Under appreciated my ***.

I don't really feel like it is.
It was well reviewed by every gaming outlet, sold around 5 million copies worldwide, is always in the discussion for the Wii's best 2D platformer (in a field that also includes Rayman Origins, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wario Land: Shake It!, A Boy and His Blob, Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby's Epic Yarn, among others) and is also frequently in the discussion for best Wii game overall.
I personally think it's right there with DKC2 for best game in the series, and I love DKC2.

Yeah you're absolutely right. My love for the game is keeping me from thinking.

As a big Zelda nerd, I feel like I have to correct this bit. Majora's Mask was a direct sequel to Ocarina of Time, Zelda II was a direct sequel to the original game (even if it plays almost nothing like any of the other games) and Link's Awakening, Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are all considered to be direct sequels to A Link to the Past.
You're right in that TWW is the most recent game to receive a direct sequel (Phantom Hourglass, which in turn had a spiritual successor, Spirit Tracks, that looked and played very similarly), however.
For the SNES- I think Wild Guns TBH I barely heard of that one when a friend and I started playing it a while ago and it was awesome. Same goes for Earthbound.
For the N64- Mischief Makers
Gamecube- IDK I skipped it for a PS2
Wii- A LOT considering that people think every game on the Wii is similar to Just Dance, Wii Fit, or Zumba.
I still Played alot of Gamecube games (my friend had a GC) I just don't think many of the ones I played were unappreciated. That's when I got REALLY addicted to Animal Crossing, Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door, and Pikmin. All the other games were fun but not addicting.
