Is it just me, or does the NES version of Ice Cream Island sound better than the GBA one?
It absolutely does. Nightmare in Dreamland mostly does a good job with its music, but GBA music has some problems sometimes and that becomes really apparent with some songs in ports/remakes.
Yeah, games with original music made for the system tend to sound good, but remakes and ports did have this weird lower quality. That song in particular, outside of the scratchy high pitched parts, has this weird quality where it feels like the notes are being cut short.
Some tough decisions this time but the songs moving on are Stardew Valley at 2-1, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga at 3-1, Persona 5 at 2-1, and Super Mario 3D Land at 3-0. Link to the bracket
Winners of this round are Tekken 2 at 3-2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at 2-1, Breath of the Wild with the tiebreaker at 2-2, and WarioWare at 3-2. Link to the bracket
Galdin Quay is not my favorite song from the whole bunch but it is absolutely the one that'd be the most likely to play in the background at a restaurant or resort in a tropical setting.
I need to play Final Fantasy XV now, these songs are getting me in a tropical mood.
