@Pastellioli Huh. I only played Perfect Dark on N64. And I was late to it at that.
I hope it comes to platforms other than Xbox.
I still have my CYL Tiki as part of my Aether Raids team. Yes, she's outdated, but Tiki is among my fave characters in the franchise, plus she's iconic.
The gacha is stupid. At this point, the only gacha game I've played where the game wasn't shallow, or the gacha mechanic wasn't too powercrept was Dragalia. Which is now gone. @Sunsy I'm okay with the update, and heck, not having to speedrun each stage makes it better for me imo. Classic Sonic games were platformers themselves. In the cases of the 3d games, there was exploration too. Sonic Unleashed is one I got the Xbox version of. I hear Wii version has far more Werehog stages, and a dumbed down final boss.
Sonic 06 was kinda weird. The kiss scene is easily the most hated thing. I found getting good ranks much easier than in other games. The silver medals were a pain, the overworld lifeless. If they could just fix these issues, it'd be great.
Now, I’m not the kind of person that will just eat a cold pink blob of mushy (raw?) fish…. I’m Mexican, if I’m eating fish, it’s gotta be covered in batter and deep-fried or drowned in garlic and butter.
But I paid for a very expensive dish that I wasn’t informed would include a lot of it. So I was a brave trouper and ate it as if I knew about good food.

Mexico sounds like a hotter version of Scotland. We deep-fry almost anything including Mars Bars (also known as a Milky Way in the US/Can I believe) and pizzas.
@Mariotag I was also late to playing the Perfect Dark games, I only started playing the first game and its Xbox prequel back in June of this year. The trailer they showed for the reboot interested me and I decided to try the original games for fun.
The game is still planned as an Xbox exclusive, but I think that Microsoft said they were going to take a multiplatform approach for a few of their exclusives, which they did for Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment earlier this year, but they haven’t said anything on their other exclusives releasing on other platforms. There have been multiple “rumors” that have been saying that Microsoft has been considering ports for a few of their exclusives, and I recall the Perfect Dark reboot being included in those rumors, but since they are rumors, I take them with a grain of salt.
My favorite characters in Heroes tend to be characters from Three Houses. I especially love using Dimitri since he’s the strongest out of all the heroes I have, and Yuri is very helpful with attacking and then quickly getting away from trouble. I really don’t use the gacha in the game at all. There is another game I play that’s a rhythm game, and that one has gacha elements, but I also don’t even really try to use that at all.
I have heard of Dragalia Lost and got ads for it when I played other games on my phone, but I never played it or downloaded it. It did look interesting, plus I loved the art style the game had, I can actually recognize the guy who did the character designs. Was it a fun game? I never really saw the gameplay.
EDIT: Okay, about the Xbox port thing, Phil Spencer (CEO of Microsoft’s gaming division) recently said there were apparently no red lines for Microsoft’s games or game series’ getting possible PS5 ports. He didn’t confirm or announce any Microsoft games or series coming to other consoles in that statement, I should add, but I thought that I’d include this since I just found out.
@Eel I love salmon a lot, any type of seafood really. I really just eat hot salmon with some salt, pepper, butter, and maybe some lemon or lime on top, tastes like lemon pepper chicken a bit. It tastes really good like that but I haven’t tried deep fried or battered salmon.
A random gamer that loves retro games, Rareware, Vocaloid, ballpoint pens, squirrels, and sleeping.
If you are curious, my favorite game of all time is Conker’s Bad Fur Day and I can’t shut up about it.
@Pastellioli Tbh, I got confused by the grainy graphics in OG Perfect Dark a lot. It made the game much harder.
As for FEH, yeah, 3 Houses was around when the game went bad. Sure, they introduced QoL stuff, but then locked some of it behind a paywall. Characters like Edelgard, and the recent Felix are so overpowered. Felix only being current, while Edelgard has been a constant ever since her fell unit pretty much introduced powercreep.
Dragalia Lost was impressive, in the relatively little of it I played. I did barely get to chapter 2 of the story though. There were a few event units I'd wanted to try out but never did (Tiki), and the gameplay actually had substance. By the end though, they increased the device specs required to play, or even update, and my 2017 tablet was no longer able to run it. A switch port would be lovely tbh.
Just did a 4th animation project.. yeah! its amazingly funny but its also quite learnable.

@Mariotag I was slightly confused when I did play the first Perfect Dark on the Xbox despite the clearer graphics. It was the controls that confused me a bit (if I recall the controls on the Xbox were originally mapped to fit the original N64 control scheme) but I fixed it and got the hang of it later on. I liked the prequel a lot despite the slightly mediocre reception it got compared to the OG and how people think it doesn’t feel or look like Perfect Dark. I found the controls and shooting there was better executed and smoother.
The paywall stuff I experienced a few times when playing the game was annoying, especially with how I had to buy the subscription service just to choose a character I wanted once. I grinded for orbs a ton by playing chapters of the story mode and drew from the gacha multiple times until reaching about 40 or 50 pulls and the game allowed me to choose a character I wanted (that being a Three Houses duo unit) but they said that I needed to get the FEH sub in order to choose the character, and I can’t tell you how annoyed I got when the game pulled that on me. I wasted so many orbs that day, and I pretty much don’t bother with the gacha anymore and play with the units I already have. It’s strange, cuz before that, I also did the same thing for another gacha banner and they let me choose a character I wanted for free after hitting 40-50 pulls without the paywall stuff.
Sounds interesting, I do recall hearing that Dragalia had crossover events that included characters from other games, I think I recall seeing Mega Man and Joker from Persona in there alongside some of the Fire Emblem characters. I do want to see some of the gameplay in videos, I am reading a bit about it and it sounded fun. I can imagine how much bigger the game got and how it had to be updated multiple times. I’m now regretting not trying it! I like giving some different mobile games a go.
There are some other games I play that increase the space and specs needed over time. The rhythm game I play always needs to be updated multiple times and the updates take longer to install, since it has a lot of data and content in it (like the voice lines, the 3D models used in gameplay, the episodes for the stories, and the music). The game still runs on my device, buts it’s gotten so much bigger compared to how much smaller it was when I downloaded it a few years ago. FEH also needs to be updated every single time I go back to playing it after a really long break, though the updates go swiftly and are small ones. I also played another game called Genshin Impact at one point, but deleted it because the specs were way too big and ate up my phone space.
@Mariotag I can do that if I ever do get to NNK on the DS. I'm guessing it doesn't function as intended on other platforms? I am sorry to read that you deal with several issues that keep your finances limited, but it seems you are getting along alright. Personally, I'm not a fan of driving and wish there were more viable options for public transportation where I live that aren't very limited or expensive. But I do admit driving comes with its own freedoms too.
I've heard those complaints regarding the map in Ender Lilies, which is one of the reasons why I don't have the game yet since I'm on the fence about that aspect. I like Metroidvanias but have limited gaming time - especially lately - so I have to pick and choose. I do like Echoes of Wisdom, in fact I'd probably have finished the game by now if RL didn't keep interfering. I've owned the game since launch. I have been playing the game, but only in short bursts.
@Pastellioli Plush crane games still exist, but they are harder to find these days. Smaller/cheaper merch like ducks and gacha stuff is more prominent where I am...and I work for an amusement operator even. XD I used to love them, but now I'd rather just pay for an item I want out of one up front.
Sonic Dash was a nice distraction, especially since Windows Phone didn't have much when it came to popular mobile games. I could play Angry Birds, but not much else. I still owned one when Pokemon Go became all the rage and wanted to join in on the action badly. Not an issue now that I have Android. As for Fire Emblem Heroes, the meh writing is also why I dropped the game since the plot wasn't going anywhere meaningful in my opinion. And yeah, it also became too grindy for my liking. Which is a good way to make me drop a game. I'm glad you enjoy rhythm games! Experience has taught me that they aren't my thing lol. At least if demos I've tried of Harmoknight and Cadence of Hyrule are any indication.
I deal with anxiety, and me wanting to not use things to keep them pristine is part of that. But yeah, I realized things are meant to be used. I'm still careful of course, but I still use them. And accidents can and will happen. Maybe not to everything, but we are all human and make mistakes. Some situations are also out of our control. It is very impressive how long some hardware and software can last, videogames and otherwise. At least the quality stuff and the conditions said stuff are kept in.
@Sunsy I've not played Chaos Wars, but it's a PS2 era Idea Factory tactical RPG infamous for the bad English VA work. Its reception is mixed, but the English voicework had almost no budget...and it definitely shows.
The comments under this example video had me rolling.
Monsters in Vampire Survivors must REALLY hate spaghetti. XD
@Pastellioli So you used to play Genshin too? I positively dread each new update, as it always takes like, 2 and a half days...
Perfect Dark is absolutely something to revisit.
I've somehow managed to not have to sub in FEH thus far. The older banners don't require the sub for a free pull, while it's typically the new ones that require it. (There's an icon on the corner of the banners with special features like that)
Dragalia had some nice crossovers, I particularly like Tiki, as she's the OG FE dragon.
@Tyranexx Ahh. Limited time. As much as I like gaming and anime, it is unfortunate my time is as much as it is tbh.
Ender Lilies is fairly hard. The real issue with the map is simply the lack of indication of where to go next. I've had to ask for help a few times myself.
NNK DS uses the touchscreen for casting spells. That's why each one has a pattern to draw, even the "fake" ones. It also means you can technically draw Ashes of Resurrection, in spite of the game's lore for it, which the WotWW version kinda flies against anyway.
I'm afraid of driving. And I'm uncertain how finances will be going forward.
Echoes of Wisdom is kinda neat. I do wish the last boss were somewhat harder though. Because reasons.
I have some pretty bad anxiety issues myself.
FEH's writing got better after Book 1 imo.
I missed out on Pokemon Go for the longest time, but now that I can play it, I find it to be a letdown.
@Mariotag Yep, I did, but I got really tired of the Adventurer Rank thing that you had to reach until you could continue the story, alongside the huge download space for the game. When I played, I didn’t really bother with the gacha except only a few times. I had a bunch of weapons and only around, I wanna say 6 playable characters. It was fun from what I played, but I didn’t stick around for a while. I also tried Honkai Star Rail (another game the developers of Genshin created) but I found it did the same thing where it locked the story behind this rank system and I stopped playing it a week after release since I thought it wasn’t my thing.
I really do like revisiting some of Rare’s games, though I did revisit another game from them, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, back in August and I kind of realized that the gameplay is awful and I sorta don’t want to play it again, at least not anytime soon. I haven’t played Perfect Dark ever since June. There was this extra mission that I unlocked with that Mr. Blonde dude after completing the main story, I still need to finish that one.
I only subbed to the FEH sub once, it was okay from what I remember. There were these cool alternative outfits the sub gave you for characters, and you can even keep the sub outfits even if the subscription expires or runs out, and the outfits did a +2 increase to all stats on a character, and I remember there was a Re-Act feature that let you restart a previous turn. There were way more features there but I only really used the attire, Free Hero Summon, and Re-Act features the most. When I was pulling a lot for a Three Houses duo unit, I should have paid attention to the FEH pass icon near the bottom. That’s probably why some of the other pulls I had were free.
Yeah, I remember seeing some of the crossover images online and it looked cool. Usually, when people think of crossovers in Nintendo games, it’s usually Smash. Bros. that comes to mind. Speaking of Tiki, I do have around two of her Awakening variants in Heroes.
@Tyranexx Usually, I would find crane game machines near the entrances of a few Walmart stores, but I don’t see them anymore. I would also probably choose a plush I want and then pay for it at the counter instead of taking a gamble and getting one from a crane machine. The plushies in the crane machines look cool and well made, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of coins or dollars just trying to get a specific one I want.
Heroes has really mediocre writing that goes alongside the story. It honestly is not super great at all, but I do get curious on how the Books end, which is kind of why I still play the story. There are a lot of plot twists and moments that seem dramatic and important, but the writing is eh. My mind is a bit fuzzy remembering this, but I recall that Book VI introduced this cow girl named Ash and it had this plot point with her where she could use this special power but in exchange she would start to lose power with her limbs and they would get gradually weaker but the game completely forgot about that and it doesn’t get brought up again. The dialogue is fine, but it gets really terrible and unfunny when they try to have more comedic or “cute” moments with the characters, but one of the worst examples I remember was there being this weird and slightly suggestive piece of dialogue in a Book VII chapter with Seidr (the girl introduced in that book) that was completely unneeded and weirded me out. The story sometimes gets so anticlimactic, and I wish they did more with the new characters they introduce besides giving them new variants that you can only get via gacha banners. Every book they introduce a new main character, but then when the book is finished, the character is forgotten and never brought up again.
Love rhythm games, but only the mobile ones, cuz I suck so much when playing them using a controller and buttons lol. When I played this rhythm game called DJMAX RESPECT V on the Xbox, I got this achievement just for failing to complete a song chart haha, but it did kind of suck because the game had a nice song selection. I think I played it for only 15 minutes and just uninstalled afterward because I realized I was awful with console rhythm games.
I am pretty glad that most video game hardware and stuff is well made and super hard to break. I sometimes am not super careful with handling some things and they do sometimes break or get slight damage, but I am glad a lot of the stuff I own is unsusceptible to breakage, like when I drop a game controller, it doesn’t get damaged at all and doesn’t show any signs of it.
Also, I saw you were talking a bit about Chaos Wars! Gosh, the clips I saw for that were hilarious lol. This clip is probably the most well-known from the English dub. The bored voice acting paired with the awkward dialogue just makes this scene so hilarious.
Oh my , im thankfull for wisdom! Why? Becouse I just wanted to get the Mario Pin set , but i had zero, litterly Nintendo zero points. So when I entered the site, I saw "hey happy birthday, here's 300 points for you!" Im like, ok, that helps, but still not enough. Then I looked how to earn some points. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp (the non paid edition) is on its way to get paid, but untill then I could play the game and earn some coins. I know that I played it in the past so that I now had some items allready. That was handy, becouse I could easily do the mission whereby I got enough to earn some new Nintendo points. It looked like I allready reached all points, but then I just needed about 50 or something. So, I did some Mario Run missions and voilla, there are the 500 points needed. I even have more then it.

@Mariotag I'm gearing up for a mini pc so I can run Perfect Dark and Goldeneye in HD at 60 fps. It's a world of difference. Some of the best couch multiplayer I ever played.
I didn't realize PS4 is already 11 years old yesterday (15 November 2013) and PS5 is already 4 years (12 November 2020).
Happy birthday for both PS4 & PS5. 🥳
Oh, also...
Old XBOX is already 23 years old on 15 November 2024.
NDS Fat will be 20 years old on 21 November 2024.
Wii U will be 12 years old on 18 November 2024 and Wii will be 18 years old on 19 November 2024.
PS3 will be 18 years old too on 17 November 2024.
XBOX 360 will be 19 years old on 22 November 2024.
So many video game machines got released in November for USA.
@Pastellioli Nice new avatar! (At least, I think it is?)
I still need to resume Conker. I currently have Halo 5 in my Xbox, and uh, good luck on getting me through that. I have an adventurer rank of 45 in Genshin, which is probably enough to get me through the full story. I've overloaded on exp for a rank up too, but gotta deal with an annoying sidequest to do that.
That's a LOT more to the pass than I expected tbh. Will say, you're mistaken about each book's character not getting anything further. There are tempest trials periods that each focus on a book's exclusive character, starting with, I think Fjorm from book 2. The current ongoing tempest trials is focused on a duo of characters from book 5. So it stands to reason we'll get more on that one book 7 character at some point. And Ash. Though I have my own issues with the writing. In book 4, Alfonse was supposedly dead, because he cheated death? But book 5, he's there again.
I do feel the game will end at 9 books though.
As for "moments" in the game, I despise the gacha (primarily) idea of your self insert being a center of attention.
@Mariotag Thank you, it is a new avatar! Usually when I pick avatars, I like going for low-poly models or screenshots because they look pudgy and I like old games a lot. I usually make Conker the character in my avatar a lot, though I have had my avatar features different characters in the past.
If you don’t mind me asking, how far are you in Conker if you remember? I only played it for the first time on the Xbox last year and I liked the comedic writing and characters and the really weird storyline, would even say it’s the most memorable game I’ve played yet. Had great memories of completing it; I remember I stayed up from 11 PM and then finished up the story mode around 5 AM, and stayed up more to get the remaining achievements in the game through the multiplayer, mainly because the final sets of levels in the story were extremely difficult and required a lot of retries. Replayed the thing again in full back in August for a Pure Xbox game club annd was excited…and then realized the gameplay was kind of awful unfortunately. I think the game focused too much on characters and writing to the point it made the gameplay and level design an afterthought later on.
If I remember, my adventurer level was lower than that, I wanna say it was maybe at around 11-12, so I had a lot of side quests to do to progress through the story. I just stopped because of that and the fact that it took a while to level up my characters and increase their max level since the game increases in difficulty later on. I only increased three characters max level (The Traveler, Amber and Kaeya) and it would have taken me a while to do the same with the other three characters I had. I liked the game but I just lost interest in it later on.
I think I did do some Tempest Trials, but I didn’t really know that they did expand a bit upon the Book characters. Thanks for telling me that, usually, I focus on progressing through the game’s story when I boot it up. I can remember there being a few more writing issues or plot holes that appeared in the Books, but I can’t remember a lot of them all since I played most of the storylines almost two years ago. I can remember the Book with Ash the most out of them all though, another issue I had with that storyline at the end was that they never commented on what happened to Elm after he was defeated. However, I did like some of the themes of the books despite the mediocre writing, I liked the time-centric theme in Book VII about the past, present, and future and thought it was interesting. I do like how Heroes is themed after Norse mythology, since I read up a lot about Norse myths at one point for an unrelated story I was writing once and I like seeing Heroes’ take on those myths.
I do also wonder when the game’s story will end or when the game will end, cuz FEH is one of the longest running mobile games Nintendo has right now and it has a lot of content and characters. The current Book is supposed to end next month I believe, so they should already be working on the next Book and will likely announce it after the current one ends. I am kind of excited to see what the next Book will look like.
EDIT: Correction, I opened FEH today and they just finished the current Book instead of next month.
