@ShieldHero
Oh, btw.
Dragon Quest franchise are very Catholic if you take a look the church building design, the Nun character, the pray they chant.
And if you look at Galenth Dysley, the main villain on Final Fantasy XIII who have Pope looking and can transform into giant monster Barthandelus, I saw something interesting with plot twist of using someone who looks like a saint because of Pope looking but actually he was a villain in disguise.
@ShieldHero my jaw literally dropped reading this thats amazing. i hope u get your work out there soon, i love fantasy fiction too!!!

@ShieldHero
Please excuse the late reply, I was sleeping.
Woah, I did not expect that you are already so serious about writing, amazing! It feels like pretty much everyone likes Dragon Ball Z. And I think if you try enough, you can put Christian themes in most series. I accepted your friend request, glad to be friends with you!
@ShieldHero I think it is a really nice thing, and many anime, or media in general, have a lot to do with Christian faith, like the biggest themes of good and evil, and empathy being a general.
I lost it somewhere along the way and couldn't bring it back no matter how hard I tried, but I think it is a marvelous thing.
Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes
@ShieldHero Oh that's cool, I still remember when I got my Switch... it was a couple months after it came out and it was still selling out like mad, lol. Before I had my N64, my dad had his SNES, and that was how I got interested in Nintendo's games. I was huge into Mario, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, and even F-Zero when I was young, though I didn't quite get into Zelda until quite a lot later. I have a younger brother who's huge into Pokemon, as well. Best of luck on getting your books published, by the way.

Did anyone happen to catch BBC Breakfast's segment on retro gaming?
They had a discussion around a table of 3 game consoles consisting of the ZX Spectrum and Wii.
The worst offender though was a SNES with an NES Super Mario Bros. cartridge somehow shoved into it 😭

@Pastellioli Yeah. Some games are a bit big. I try not to have too much on my phone tbh.
Fair. Though I feel like Twitter was generally for the worse in many regards. These days though? Most of the politics has moved over to Bsky, and I feel far more at ease on Twitter amusingly enough.
Yeah. Pretty much anything can be abused, down to the conceptual level, AI obviously included.
Yup.. Since leaving my initial comment, I actually got the original artist's blessing to use what I have been using for my pfp elsewhere. I hate that ppl disrespect like that. Also, on opinions prior to having experienced what it is in question, can't be sure if I've done it or not.
Fearmongering is kinda everywhere now. One prominent example is politics. I have weird views, but ultimately want to think of it in terms of merits and demerits, on multiple levels, as well as consequences, and how others would do it.
Yeah. I genuinely believe that any concept or system will naturally be abused, and taken to a corrupt extreme naturally. This is why there is chaos everywhere now imo. Every good concept has collapsed into corruption. And I do genuinely hate the block button, for all the reasons you listed. But I can also see it as a tool to avoid stalkers, and ppl who are genuinely toxic. (Which some ppl would naturally think I am, cause of my reactions from how my brain works..) But at the same time, such ppl who truly are extreme would find ways around it...like a certain relative of mine...
Eh. Referring to the "Listen you parasite" rant? Yeah. Can't think of much else it'd be.
I've been feeling burdened lately, and kept putting off replying. I'm hoping this is even the right one to reply to!
@ShieldHero You write series?
I've been interested myself, and even started writing stuff. But uh. My chapter length is lacking, as is my motivation and freedom from stress.
@Mariotag, if you are interested, I have a few story writing tips:
1. Just write. I'm one of the people that is really obsessed with having the entire storyline planned out from beginning to end a lot of the time, but I am considering starting a series without any real plans for it and just ad-libbing the whole thing from beginning to end with a few small ideas for the direction of it.
2. Find a time and time frame that fits your schedule. I prefer binging a writing session for hours on end instead of spacing it out in twenty minute sessions throughout a day. However, I do realize that not everyone has the same schedule or time spacing preferences as I do.
3. Don't worry about chapter length, at least at the beginning. Most of the time, books have chapters of varying lengths, and a chapter usually ends at either the end of a scene/battle, or with a major revelation/cliffhanger. You can always edit chapters and move sentences around later. This is where the 1st draft - 2nd draft - any more drafts if needed concept is helpful.
4. Take a break if necessary. This one does not need to be explained.
As for sharing about my series, I've given a few details about some of my series and their inspirations on this thread already, but I certainly will give more real details if they actually get published.

If there were DMs, I'd send what I have so far tbh.
Unfortunately, I more or less have no concrete schedule.
Also have my doubts on if what I make will be any good or not.
Sorta an isekai shounen if I'm not mistaken?
I get way too many ideas, and I forget some long before I can get them put down. Plus I'm in a phase where I need to escape anxiety. :/ Usually through gaming and anime.
@Mariotag, in case you didn't read my above comments in this thread, most of my stories are actually inspired by anime! For example, a decent amount of my stories are isekai ones. It's nice that you'd share what you have so far if you could, since I like reading in progress stores! I'm just not willing to share actual copies of my own stories online until they're published and copyrighted, just in case.

Sorry I skipped the pre-Switch 2 June one, but I've been busy (and I kinda just didn't feel like it 😅). We're already halfway through the year? Man time flies. But I'm here again, and what a time it's been!
Greater questions about the future aside, the Switch 2 launch went pretty well. It sold 3.5 million for launch, and people are enjoying it. I don't have one yet, but my friends do and they seem to like it.
Things have been great at church. Our revival was a great success, and we've been getting good attendance from our guests since. I've even made a friend as well!
Other than that, just working, playing, and doing anything else I need to do. Still looking for a new job (I'm bound to find something one of these day). Speaking of playing....
Gaming schedule:
Finished Super Monkey Ball jr. on my GBA SP... sort of. You see, there are three main mode available offhand, but there's an unlockable Master Mode that I didn't want to beat or unlock. But it's okay, because it's a solid experience. Impressive how they made a fully-functional Monkey Ball playable on the GBA.
In honor of the Switch 2 launch, I decided to go back to my first Switch 1 game: Sonic Forces. It... certainly a game, isn't it? A lackluster one at that, in fact. It's not the best. The short levels, the meh dialogue and story, and lack of REAL content (not just replaying levels again and again) add up. Still, there is some enjoyment to be had. I liked the custom avatar content (between the design closet and his levels) to a degree. And the music ain't too bad:
I finally beat Brothership! I got this game Christmas, and between playing other games (I was playing Monster Hunter Rise and Zelda Phantom Hourglass before this) and being busy with everyday life and church, it took a while.
I really enjoyed it! The combat is soild, the world gameplay and design are good, the world itself has so much charm, and the charactes are enjoyable (shoutout to Dulles and Ten). The story, while it doesn't perfectly come together and the writing isn't the absolute best, is pretty good and surprisingly deep (especially for a Mario and Luigi game). Oh, and the music is pleasant to listen to. A solid entry, all things considering.
Just started Layton's Mystery Journey. Enjoying it so far, but I have to admit it's certainly odd in it's story, dialogue, and even pacing. Still, I'm enjoying the puzzles, so that's good.
2025 Commitments:
Well, I started Layton's Mystery Journey, that was on my list 😃. I'll see what I'll play next after that, might do another commitment game. Other than that, I'm still job searching. Really hoping to get into the postal service.
Final remarks:
Things might be hot and/or rainy, but I'm gonna keep marching on. I've got books to read, games to play, and people to help. Honestly, I really think a postal job would be good for me! Pray for me.
@konicstar
Good luck with your job hunting! Never played Sonic Forces, but the music in Sonic games is usually quite good. Brothership is a solid game. I enjoyed the battles and even the more emotional tone, compared to past entries. I thought Layton's Mystery Journey was enjoyable, even without Layton.
