I'm talking, of course, about "Glove & Boots", a YouTube channel that uses puppets, and the subjects they talk about aren't exactly kid-friendly, but they were REALLY funny. It was thanks to them that I learned how grammar works (and at one point the cousin of one of the main characters comes in dressed up like one of the Indiana Jones bad guys, a grammar... you know)

I also learned about "The Hero's Journey", where the aforementioned cousin acts out each archetype.

If there's a multiverse, please send me to a universe where "Ratchet & Clank" didn't get critically panned and bombed at the box office, and instead made close to a billion dollars AND won "best animated film".

@Colonel_Mustache Wait, you saw it too? All I know is that people didn't know it existed (apparently a trailer for it was attached with "Goosebumps", which I never saw so I didn't get to see the trailer until YouTube), and the PS4 game (which essentially is a remake of the first game as well) came out before the movie did, so everyone already played it and learned most of the story. I mean I have it on Blu-Ray, so that counts.

I actually saw the movie twice, once in 3D with my mom and again in 2D by myself. She only came along because she liked the naughty subtitles (like "Up Your Arsenal" and "Size Matters"), she otherwise knows absolutely squat about the characters and weapons.

I gotta wonder how the winner of the "My Blaster Runs Hot" contest, which added the "Spiral of Death" to "Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time" must feel about their winning weapon being shown in the movie (even for a few seconds).

@Colonel_Mustache Sadly, the movie's failure also canceled the "Sly Cooper" movie. I gotta wonder how they're making video game-based movies better now with the recent "Angry Birds Movie 2" and both "Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2". I assume "Mario" might just get mixed reviews, but be praised for being an improvement over the 1993 live-action movie.

@Colonel_Mustache Judging by everyone's reactions, I still think the critical reception will be "mixed". Remember peoples' complaints about Chris Pratt voicing Mario? They forget Charles Martinet can't voice him forever, and he's got some cameos (which I suspect one of them is the Toad that sells the NES cartridge and says you have to "blow into it", which is technically a bad thing to do with cartridges because the moisture from our breaths can make the pins inside degrade worse)

@ComfyAko It's actually one of my favorite movies I would say...it really does get you thinking, what would happen if something or someone you knew suddenly vanished but you still remember them?

I will say, as a Star Wars fan, I wasn't too bothered by the New Hope comparisons, and honestly the Sequel movies aren't as bad in my opinion as people make them out to be, but there are definitely still original ideas out there, and I think it really comes down to IP recognition and money...

I forgot to answer to this one

That's a very interesting question. The movie also got me thinking about other things - What if we had something else like the Beatles and the world would just forget it, like it stopped from existing entirely, how would we even know what we're missing? And more realistically, how many great artists and great people overall get forgotten without getting any recognition simply because they weren't lucky enough to make it to the big leagues? It's really a matter of luck as much as of skill, as I've seen more "hidden gems" of games, artworks and songs than successful one.

The sequels aren't that horrible, imo. The prequels steered the WS in a wrong direction (with midichlorians, strenght-swinging lightsaber battles and making Darth Vader into a creepy teenager), and the new SW is a sign of its time, but I've been to the movie theater (something that I do only for SW) for Rouge One, The Last Jedi and Solo and I enjoyed it.

Despite the fact that the most important event in Pokémon Journeys got absolutely spoiled on every piece of social media, I still plan to watch that episode when the English dub hits Netflix later this year.

@JadeKitsune With Chris Pratt's voice acting, I think Charles Martinet should voice him, he can't do it forever but this is the first Mario movie since forever.

@Anti-Matter Um, no offence, but I have problems with "G". I'm only comfortable with any other searches like Bing.

My favourite games: Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox, Pokémon, SSB, Sonic, Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Pepsiman, Elder Scrolls, Turok, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and various others.

@Eagly Yeah, it's just weird she has traits of all the Mor Ardainian people, your best of Mor Ardain theory did occur to me. It's really a shame they didn't show Alrest at all because it could have cleared up if they knew each other or not but your explanation for why they didn't makes sense. I can't wait 'til the DLC comes out so I know if I need to eat those hats or not, the suspense is killing me.

I’m gonna switch to trail mix for movie snacking.

@Colonel_Mustache It's nice to hear that somebody else liked it they have, of course, some huge logic problems like with Last Jedi and how the guy who wanted to sacrifice himself get back to the cave after crashing like 10 meters away from the enemy army, but most tv series have that sort of problem, like Kenobi ep 2, 3 etc.

They have a good thing going with Visions, though. I would love to see some characters in a tv series made for them only, like Lop or the twins

@TheBigBlue it might sound stupid but I think Charles Martinet has somewhat of a moral right to be the voice of Mario in the movie. I mean it's the most mainstream thing Nintendo has done for a long time, and they replaced him with subpar Chris for no reason. At first I thought that it's for a more recognizable name on a poster but then I realized... who in the right mind doesn't know Charles Martinet? Now I'm clueless.

@Eagly I mean I know it sounds kinda scummy but when you think about it, assuming it will be quite a sizable expansion, it'll probably be like a sequel/prequel but cheaper, plus it gives people time to speculate which is always fun.
I mean I gave you my word, so if you are right, it'll be stewed beret/other hats for me.
Also, unrelated but I just want to complain about it, earlier whilst playing Torna a cutscene had an annoying glitch, for whatever the reason the voices stopped playing but all other audio was completely fine.
