@Tyranexx Howdy! Thank you! I'll likely mostly float around the forums for a bit so I'll see you around. How's that backlog of switch games coming? (I just hit 340 switch games...send an intervention, please!)

@Ryu_Niiyama Glad you'll be sticking around for a bit! I've made a bit of headway on the Switch backlog, but that's mainly because I've throttled my purchases for a bit. Mainly due to rebudgeting and the upcoming holidays. Switch games (retail and eShop) are about 2/3 of my backlog right now. Besides all the cool Nintendo exclusives, there are games (Ex. Bioshock Trilogy, Skyrim) that I previously missed entirely since I didn't own the platforms they were on.

Nintendo's standards have really dropped with the switch. Joycon drift is a problem. Nintendo don't care about quality. All they are interested in is getting out a product that is half functioning. I don't know about the console itself, that seems ok, but I wouldn't be surprised if problems did show up at some point. The plastic is cheap on the switch, and the battery seems to like expanding. get it together nintendo.

@DannyBoi The quality is not top tier yes but if you handle it with little care it could last.

But the drift is the worst ... I mean I could just change my joycons with new ones and it is fixed but the poor souls that are stuck with the Lite? I pity them if they have a drifting issue

On the other hand I already changed a joycon stick myself and it was super easy! (not because of drifting but because i dropped it and it broke instantly - "glass" joycon quality).

@Zuljaras I haven't had the drift problem in over a year. I sent it in, got it fixed for free, and that was that. If I still had the drift I probably would've given up on the switch already tbh

So while I have been babysitting, I have been shiny hunting a Sandygast, and now I finally got it! 2.5 weeks later. Well over 600 eggs. But that just makes it so much more satisfying!

@Tyranexx I've tried Skyrim 3 times and I just can't seem to enjoy it. I might give it one last chance on Switch someday... Maybe.

By the way, each time I look at your profile picture I remember that I have been wanting to replay Okami and Okamiden. I've seen it on sale many times but I have been prioritizing new games. It's still one of my favorite games and I still remember that I got in on PS2 on day one but none pf my friends knew about it. It happened the same when I got Demon's Souls haha.

What's the deal with the rash of threads asking the value of things lately? I'd never seen them before this summer. Or maybe there's always someone asking and I didn't notice?

Ok, @Zuljaras! So did you paint on a dark canvas or light? There's no right or wrong answer. I've been watching painting shows lately, so it has me wondering

Anyone in the US, I've watched a few Wyland's Art Studio shows (25 min) on PBS Create. While the mermaid may seem kind of corny, I've liked watching what Wyland paints. It's interesting to see how painters make a night scene or create the illusion of light. I like this guy. (obviously, he's no Bob Ross 🤪)

@WoomyNNYes I started on a gray background somewhere in the middle of the scale and worked from there.

I tried with the classic all white background but it did not work as the white is quite distracting to put things together.

@Zuljaras I love it i appreciate the attention to detail on the bottom-right tree.

@Zuljaras Love it! I like art, though most of my own drawing these days is only the occasional random doodle.

@roy130390 The only Elder Scrolls game I've ever spent some amount of time with - and this was only for a few hours on a cousin's Xbox 360 - was Oblivion. I loved what I played of the game. I hadn't played many open world games up to that point, so my mind at the time was pretty blown lol. Like with some other franchises, the main thing that has stopped me from playing the series was my chosen platform.

I absolutely love Okami and also really enjoyed Okamiden. I need to go back and play through the god mode New Game+ file I worked so hard to unlock on the former lol. I'd love for a true sequel to surface as I consider Okamiden to be a bit of a spin-off.

Here’s a fun fact I’m sure will interest @App: I’m part Goose (sort of maybe). Do you want proof? Just notify me and I’ll type the whole long thing.
