@Tyranexx I wasn't worried. No, really, I wasn't. Scout's honor, and all that...
@HobbitGamer MadCatz controllers? Nah, man. All original controllers only. We would never do that amongst friends. Some of them were already bad enough as is, so they didn't need any inferior controller to lose...
@Anti-Matter They do show a lot of things that you don't like, true. But they also show plenty of stuff that is more suited for you. After the show is done tonight (starts at 10pm local time, 3 hours and 37 minutes from now, exactly, and will last 2 hours), they'll upload individual trailers of all the games and presentations, so then you can skip all the inappropriate ones, and just check out the ones that you might like.
@bimmy-lee You didn't like Watchmen? I own the graphic novel, AND I watched the movie several times, and I really liked it. Loved some of the actor's portrayals as well, especially Rorschach.
I don't know if super hero stories/movies need to be Hollywoodized to be palatable, but what the most common reason is, and one that certainly has some merit, is that simply not everything can be translated to the big screen in a believable way, if at all. Using the word "believable" in relation to sci-fi/fantasy might seem like a bit of a stretch, but I reckon you'll get the point. And as I've also mentioned previously, most of these comics series have had such long back stories, going on for 30 to 40 years on average, that they'll simply HAVE to cut corners here and there, to make the stories bite-sized, and understandable for a larger audience than just comic nuts alone.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@Anti-Matter And concerning your question about my views on all the previous Microsoft E3 presentations: in general, I enjoyed all of them, although some were better than others. But of course, I have a FAR wider taste in games than you, and I am more comfortable with the game types that you don't like, mainly because I simply separate virtual violence from ACTUAL violence. I know it's not real, I know it will not make me violent or behave violently, because I'm not an evil or deranged person, so logically, playing these games will have no negative effect on me whatsoever.
I do hate losing, or failing at things, so I get annoyed or even angry about that sometimes, but that can happen just as easy in a kid-friendly Nintendo game, so for me, that isn't tied to realistic looking games specifically.
Anyway, blocking out/refusing to watch certain E3 presentations may protect you from having to watch all the stuff that you don't like, but it also prevents you from seeing the stuff that you most definitely WOULD have liked, such as this one from four years ago, which I think you might enjoy:
Anyone watching the Devolver presentation later? Itās the first presentation Iām interested in so far this year. Iāll have to sacrifice some of my Sunday evening game time, which is a staple of my week, but itās worth it.
@ThanosReXXX - Believable within the realm of suspension of disbelief. Iām a pro wrestling fan. I can suspend my disbelief with the flip of a switch. Iām very conditioned to it. Maybe Iām just a āfanboyā (hate that term with a smoldering passion) in the case of The Watchmen, and I just couldnāt have left the movie reasonably satisfied. Read the book repeatedly. I think they nailed Rorschach, unquestionably. I just didnāt care for most of the other characters, especially Dr. Manhattan.
Maybe I just read the characters my own āwayā too many times. I saw it with other Watchmen fans. We all walked away with a similar feeling. Hoping/expecting for a nine or 10. Feeling like we got a five or six. Not bad. Not great. Just a surprise since we were all big fans of the source material, and the movie followed really close to the material. Iāve only watched it once, and Iāve had an urge to go back to it since re reading the book again last winter.
Edit - Man, didnāt realize I was trying to strike up a conversation with you about a 10 year old movie mere minutes before the Microsoft presentation. I donāt really pay attention to them. Just ignore.
@Anti-Matter xbox and Sony shows will always feature a lot of mature games. That's what's most popular in the world. They have stuff for you too.... But the presentation isn't necessarily child friendly... It'll feature all kinds of games including ones you don't like. Heck, even Nintendo does, these days.
@thanosrexx yes, virtual violence is accepted and celebrated by everyone round the world (except Anti)..... So long and theres less cleavage than the 11:00 news anchor... Otherwise the internet WILL PAY for it's impurity!
@NEStalgia - I enjoy some good violence, but Iām out on realistic gun violence. What I really want to know though, is how you feel about songs about trains. I have a huge playlist in an old laptop of just songs about trains, from the dawn of recorded music in the US on wax cones, to roughly the early 70s; we made a whole lotta songs about trains, and theyāre good. One of my favorite Johnny Cash lines is something he added to the old folk song, Rock Island Line. āIām a northbound train on a southbound track. Iām all right leaving, but I wonāt be back.ā I feel that way sometimes.
@NEStalgia
But Nintendo still has more kids friendly at their presentation. Their habits as always.
I know there will be some rated 18+ games on Nintendo machines but it still the portion of kids friendly games on Nintendo more than their adult games.
"xbox and Sony shows will always feature a lot of mature games. That's what's most popular in the world."
I still never understand why do peoples have to keep feeding their brains with those 18+ stuffs. I mean why do you have to ? For me, it's beyond the absurdity, i mean why do you have to feed your brains with a lot of negative informations all the time if you can feed your brains with something positive and healthier ?
Peoples said it was not harming, just only entertaining since it just only computer programs with specific encoding, but for me it still harming our body. It doesn't harm our body by physically, but harm our body by mentally. To see peoples keep feeding their brains with a lot of negative contents like that it does same thing with reading porn magazines, keep talking with foul languages all the time, smoking and get drunks by alcoholic drinks and drugs, etc. That was i saw from my perspective. Maybe for you it was alright but for me, it was insulting. It hurts my feeling. Sorry for the comments like that again.... š
@Morpheel It just ended. xCloud launches October, Project Scarlet in late 2020. Not really anything that made me miss my X1. This tweet I saw summed it up:
āI was hoping for something different or something āwowā-ish from Microsoft and got⦠nothing? It was solid, and Game Pass continues to be frigginā awesome, but⦠no details on xCloud rollout, vague on Scarlett. But hey, thereās a new Halo. And Gears. Just like always!ā

Be yourself, no matter who you are!
For me, that's being madly in love with fictional characters. Plz don't judge.
Yes, my first anime was High School DxD. Don't ask or judge!

Saw some interesting games in there, gotta love how when I thought "that reminds me of the Blair witch project...." them bam, Blair witch stick figure.
@Anti-Matter There are absolutely no 18+ games on any Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft game consoles. All three companies ban that content. Any game in the region, rated by the regional version of the ESRB that is label as 18+/Adult Only/X whatever they call it, are PC titles only.
We understand you don't like certain content, but just as you are entitled to play what you like, so is everyone else. Certainly you are mature enough to handle the existence of content outside of your own preferences.
Burying your head in the sand and pretending things do not exist does not protect you from them. If anything, it only makes you more vulnerable to shock when you do come across them.
FINALLY got the chance to watch Bohemian Rhapsody..... man I LOVED it.

Nope, I didn't get to watch Bethesda's conference either. Doesn't seem like I missed anything that would pique my interest.
I do plan on tuning into both Ubi and SE's presentations tomorrow. The rest of E3 past that mostly belongs to the Big N for me. The stuff during work hours I'll mostly just have to listen to, but I'll try to watch the bits (or rewatch them later) that truly interest me.
