@Anti-Matter - He looks great! I enjoy seeing your art making process as well. Sketch, line work, shading, color. It takes a lot of work for one drawing. I can hear Michael Buffer announcing Arnold for a match:

From the majestic Purple Mountains, fighting out of the red, white, and blue corner, standing 40 inches, weighing in at 13 pounds... the Avian Kickboxing champion of the woooooooorld... Arnold the Eeeeagle... Eagle!

@Anti-Matter great drawing. You are really talented. Should really put this in the Nintendo artist forum

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

Edit - Man, didn’t realize I was trying to strike up a conversation with you about a 10 year old movie mere minutes before the Microsoft presentation. I don’t really pay attention to them. Just ignore.

Ignore what?

@HobbitGamer Yeah, solid is probably the right word for the Microsoft conference as well. I personally labeled it 'decent', even though there certainly were several games that I really liked. Them being vague on the hardware was okay with me, and understandable from a business standpoint. Don't want to give the competition the opportunity to one-up you before the console's even released. They have the upper hand now, where most powerful console is concerned, and I'd assume they'd want to keep that advantage, and then move onto other goals from there.

@NEStalgia Yes, it's most definitely you. Cyberpunk 2077 looks absolutely friggin' great, and I can't wait to play it.

@Tyranexx Sad that you missed so much. Microsoft's conference was okay, although a bit too lengthy and with few (too few?) surprises, but all in all some decent games. I felt the same about Bethesda's conference, although I do always feel that theirs is more friendly in tone, even though they largely do show the same types of games that Microsoft does. And of course, they showed several of their games running on the Switch...

But, in general, I can't really comment on if you missed something or not. That obviously all depends on what you're looking for, game-wise. Me, I just try to watch everything live, and if I can't, I'll watch it the next day. For me, that's the only way to get the full E3 experience, and makes me feel like I was there along for the ride, regardless of the fact that I obviously wasn't there physically.

@ThanosReXXX - Ignore my last comment about Watchmen/the topic in general. When I realized I was chatting you up about Watchmen just before the MS presentation, I felt like the annoying guy yammering on with no concept of time or place.

@bimmy-lee Oh, no worries. I'm quite the "in your face" person. If I'm bothered by something you do, trust me, you'll know IMMEDIATELY. So, if I don't say anything, feel free to chatter away...
Besides: I was watching the presentation on my TV, so I still had the website up on my PC in the corner of my living room. I can multi-task to some extent, and there were enough blabla segments in the presentations for me to still be able to hold a conversation at the same time as watching the conference.

@Anti-Matter I think you should decide that for yourself. I can't advise you in any way.

Curious on anybody's thoughts, would it be silly for me to get a 3DS or 2DS at this point? I am always tempted whenever I see deals.

I love my Switch, and have had every Nintendo console, but have never had any of the portable systems until the Switch. I can see them eventually bringing GB, GBC, and GBA games to the Switch, but not sure what the odds are of them bringing 3DS games to the Switch beyond remasters. It seems like there are a lot of quality games that I have missed out on.

@Bucky
Go get 3DS or 2DS if you really want to play 3DS games.
I have Three 3DS XL (Two are USA version, One is Japanese version) to play 3DS & NDS games and also NDS lite for playing GBA games.
Never too late to start retro gaming.

@bimmy-lee Train songs are fine by me! Got to love some bluegrass train music! Plus it's Miyamoto approved!

@Anti-Matter To an extent I do agree with you. I don't take it to nearly the extreme you do, in that you're kind of an absolutist on such matters with a zero or near-zero tolerance policy. In that regard, that's as bad and as unhealthy as the current media saturatation with it where you represent one extreme, and the Bethesda conference represents the opposite extreme. There's a lot of gray area between.

I definitely appreciate a fair bit of "M" content, but it depends what it is, how it's presented, and what perspective you can have on it. There's a lot of "M" games I enjoy, from SMT to Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry (it's dark, it's violent, but it's an interesting exploration of the idea of demons, the violence serves a function of the world and story.) even Doom though I don't really care about the environment, and it wouldn't matter if it were that or or fluffy bunnies, it's just the gameplay and "power fantasy" that's fun. I won't dismiss all such content out of hand the way you do. However, I also agree with you to an extent as well. I also don't understand the obsession and saturation with realistic, horror/murder/blood/zombies/military to the extent that it is. Not just games, but media overall. It's embarrassing watching E3 and you just see clip after clip of military/zombies/chainsaws/vigilantes ad nauseum. I don't object as directly to its existence as you, but I do reject that repeating that seems to be the bedrock of the industry. Film as well. Though I can accept and even enjoy a significant percentage of it, albeit, some of it is just boring these days, I do question why the masses are so obsessed with the repetition in themes.

BTW, it' was nice seeing the drawing process!

@ThanosReXXX I dunno, to me Cyberpunk is looking more and more like an interesting movie, a Tarantino clone no less, more than an interesting game. Which makes me think of it as probably a bad game given the lack of gameplay they seem keen on demonstrating. Then again, similar complaints were leveraged at Witcher 3. Maybe it has a great game behind the sizzle, but they seem bent on never actually showing it, instead showing more 10 minute movies. I found the Japanese survival horror game at Bethesda's show drawing me in more...and I don't even touch horror with a 50ft pole. Cyberpunk should be right in my wheelhouse. But I get disappointed each time they show a movie instead of a game....and now the...erm....bodacious addition of Keanu..... I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.
