After trying to get into Super Street Fighter IV, I just can't stand it. The only fighting game I'll ever play are Smash Bros. and a little of the Vs. Capcom games- even then, I lose interest in the latter because I never liked the idea of doing a combination to pull off one move (in regards to nifty fighting tricks- specials, are fine with me but even then...)
I'm with you man. I can't stand SSFIV or MvC because of what you mentioned and nothing more. Having to strain my hands to beat someone (and go into a brain fart from the "intensity"), in an online match with a character I'm forced to be because they're "easy" or "cheap" to use is beyond my knowledge. Winning by a substantial amount can take forever. I don't want to practice, lose, practice, practice, lose lose LOSE! It's not worth it. It's not worth my time or fun especially with a game I'm forcing myself to play to begin with. Mortal Kombat 9 was acceptable because I've loved the franchise since I was little and losing wasn't as frustrating but the same complaints were still present. (And I rage a lot with that franchise. I could be the next AVGN for gods sake...)
Soul Calibur. I hate this game. The whole franchise even. Soul Calibur 2 is the only exception, maybe. Nothing like cornering me until I die huh? An easy way to win is to spam moves too. I'm no champ at the game so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Then again, my friend is really good at the series whereas my other friend isn't and my friend who doesn't play the series beat him at it from simply spamming moves. It takes no skill. And don't get me started on Legends on the Wii... >:3
The games I do like: Super Smash Bros. (Any) Tekken (Any) Mortal Kombat (Any) Bloody Roar (Any)

Soul Calibur is a very defensive game. If you watch some high-level play, you'll see that it requires a lot of blocking, dodging, reading your opponents moves, and most importantly parrying. If you don't know how to utilize them properly, you'll be smashed. If you do, though, even the fastest biutton masher won't be able to stand up to you. Pro-Tip: Practice on a high-level CPU. They'll teach you the right stuff and show you that button mashing doesn't always work.

I see what your saying. The same applies to Smash Brothers. I guess thats why I suck so bad but how would spamming moves fall into place? My friend got destroyed and hes great at the game.

If he was great at the game, he wouldn't have lost, unless he was just going easy.
