Topic: Shiny Pokemon Stories (your first encounter with a shiny 'mon)

Just recently I played pokemon Y and I was in the friend safari and I come across a shiny spiritomb, I didnt have anybody that could weaken it without killing it so I through one ultra ball and somehow caught it. It also came with its hidden abilty, I was lucky that I was paying attention or I would have ran away when I didn't hear pressure kick in.

The first Shiny I met was in Gold. It was a Silver Rhyhorn. I assumed nothing while battling her, and fainted her, but afterwards I thought about it... and then I realised my mistake. That was like that Pink Butterfree that the guy at Lake of Rage mentioned, and the silver flame Ponytail my sister had. It haunts me to this day.

The next Shiny I met was Kyogre in Sapphire. I kept fainting Kyogre- I wasn't too good at catching Legendaries then. Several times, I saw a pink one, but I just turned off the console when I saw it. I didn't know how rare Shinies were then, and I didn't like the pink colour. Facepalm.

The only Shiny besides the Red Gyarados I have now, I just got a few days ago! You can see her in my avatar. It took me ages to soft reset for her, over a month, but I cried from happiness when I saw her... After 50 hours of the most mundane thing in the world I could finally start my new Pokéventure!

I've yet to have my own shiny story. But I'm going to hunt down a shiny Doduo eventually! >:[

Shiny Nidoking (caught this one on FireRed)
Shiny Zekrom (Black took a couple resets)
Shiny Mewtwo (first try on FireRed)

My first (and only) shiny is a shiny gyrados. I got himv by trading a Xerneas for a shiny magikarp, and then evolving it.

My first random shiny was a Machp on Platinum, he's currently training on my White 2 as a Machamp

I was playing Silver on my Pikachu Gameboy Color for the fifth time. I had never seen a shiny before, but then! A wild Zubat appeared!
I murdered that turd and moved on.
And that is the only shiny I have ever seen. No regrets.

Purrloin: Was evo racing mudkips in white 2 route 3 and got surprised when I found it
Floatzel: was going through route 16 and lumiose city and checking pokedex to see if moltres was in route 16. Then I decided to do an encounter without checking and I came across this! I was totally surprised

on Pokémon Y I have a shiny ambipom from the friend safari with good IVs and a good nature. I'm trying to get that ability thing item to make it have Technician it's a neat ability.

since I have two gaps one called 5th gen and the other called Pokémon Bank keeping my old Pokémon away from Pokémon Y I consider Ambipon my new first Shiny

I have! I spent around a month putting Pokemon on the GTS asking for a Ditto until I FINALLY got a Japanese one. I loved that Ditto and my Charizard (My favorite Pokemon) in the day care and over the next couple weeks hatched roughly 700 Charmander eggs until I actually hatched a shiny one! He is now my proud shiny Charizard who will finally become a part of my XY team when they decide to bring the bank and transporter to the US. As for my first shiny, it was a Mime Jr. in the Trophy Garden in Diamond. Less than an hour later, I found a shiny Roselia. Haven't seen another in the wild since. My step sister's first shiny experience sucked. She found a shiny Smeargle in the Safari Zone and it ran the first chance it got. Poor thing.

I walk into victory road, somehow encounter a shiny, and i be like "cool, brah" Caught. The end

I actually have a couple now! So for the first one in Pokemon Y I was chain fishing for about an hour. I was about to give up but decided to do just one more cast. Lo and behold, a shiny Horsea.

Next and so far last time was in a new friend safari I was checking out. The very first encounter was a shiny Ferroseed. She's now a lovely Ferrothorn and has helped me win many a battle.

I legitimately found 3 shinies within roughly 15 minutes!! I was trying to hunt for good IV ditto's and then BAM a shiny ditto. Before I knew it I found a shiny Dunsparce too! Then when ANOTHER shiny ditto appeared I knew for sure the game was reverse-trolling me. If you want a shiny, the friend safari is the place to go for sure!
