lil story for ya: i eat a green salad every day.

recently i decided to try making my dressing instead of using store bought, and holy wow! what a difference it has made. my salads are alive with flavor and nutrition in a new way 🥰

anyway my recipe is olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, a little garlic, a little pepper, a few shakes of red pepper flakes.

what are your favorite salad dressing recipes? any other big time salad heads in here?

man, i really like my salads with olive oil, and modena vinaigrette; absolute delicacy

if i feel a bit exotic i throw in there a drop or two of sesame oil, it gives a very unique taste on it

your combination of dressings sounds very tasty indeed

nihil novi sub sole (nothing new under the sun)

镜花水月 (flower on a mirror, moon on the water)

cool quotes and stuff

Me! Sounds yummy. Big salad everyday. One I rather like is Soya Yoghurt + Spirulina powder.

sesame oil is a good idea! i recently startedaking stir fry and the sesame oil definitely is a big part of the flavor. yum!

i highly recommend a little bit of dijon in your vinaigrette. it seems to "bind" it all together, and adds a lot of nice spice/savory flavor without (imo) just slapping you in the face with obvious "mustard" flavor. 😊

thanks for kicking off my silly thread! ✌️

cheers! is your recipe really just soya and spirulina?

I can't imagine what that is like (literally, as ive never tried soya or tasted spirulina by itself) but it sounds healthy for sure! the color must be wild.

thanks for posting! ✌️

An ex girl friend's mom made this, although I was never told the exact ratios as apparently it's a secret. But I have winged it before successfully,

-olive oil
-lemon juice
-Worcestershire sauce
-minced garlic (i just use a garlic press)
-Salt, pepp

I was just thinking about trying some Worcestershire in a dressing so this is perfect! sounds delicious.

I will report back 👍 thanks!

I'm an obligate carnivore (these teeth aren't just for show), but I've always enjoyed the concept of leafy salads, and I've certainly gone to chow, face-down, in oversized bowls before. For the primate majority on this site, I strongly support The_Nintendo_Expat's initiative. It is actively abusive to feed humans a diet lacking in vegetable content, such as chick peas, okra or that Stardew Valley favourite, parsnips. Fast-food and certain other dietary tendencies are actively bad for human health, if only because they lack this kind of content.

My fellow gamers, salads are perfect for the lazy and the time-pressed among us. Shred your vegetables quickly, ruthlessly, and pour in any old experimental extra, like those recommended above! I'm partial to nacho cheese and spices in my vegetable-free salads, but I'm sure they'll work with any Green Plant you can eat.

I love your enthusiasm! just wonderful 😊✌️

I cant re-emphasize your point enough that salads are for the lazy and time-pressed, and I'll add that they are for the culinary challenged, too! even if you seriously hate cooking (like i do in some ways, sometimes,) you can pull off a salad. and, psychologically it's nice to finish a meal that you feel 100% good about having eaten. it's addicting even!

PS "nacho cheese and spices in my vegetable-free salads" that's an interesting way to describe, uh, nachos?
