Topic: Saints Row The Third or GTA 4? Which game do you think is better?

I like the Saints Row series better
But, my favorite out of either series is GTA: San Andreas

Neither but it seems RockStar is slowly backing away from what made GTA great and Saints Row... well Saints Row.

We don't know what GTA 5 will be like, but I am glad it's back in San Andreas. Hopefully we can travel through the entire huge state again, instead of just one large city.

Thats why everyone enjoys San Andreas too. There is 3 completely different areas to explore and every thing in between.

Lets cross our fingers in hope for GTA 5 to improve this to a great extent.

I never played San Andreas, but aren't the individual cities much smaller than the Liberty City in GTA 4?

I think San Andreas is actually bigger than Liberty City but I may be wrong. Either way San Andreas has 3 sections. One is a gangster filled city that is fairly rundown but mainly focuses on a beach. Second one is a city more populated by farmers and is next to mountain. Third is the exact same replica of New Vegas. It's even set in the desert. lol

Saints Row The Third, hands down. It's the first open world game to TRULY get it. We want to run around, blow stuff up, and have FUN. The Third cuts out the crap that normally gets in the way of all that.

I thought that was part of the country and San Fierro was a replica of San Fransisco or something

San Fierrio is San Fran
The county is the country
the other part is las vegas.

Not many games are better than GTA IV.

I enjoy both franchises, but i probably have had more overall fun with the Saints Row games. I think of them as basically what would happen if GTA was sent into the Looney Tunes dimension and had a love child with Wile E Coyote.

Yakuza 4 is better than the both combined.

That or Yakuza 3. I think Yakuza 3 actually has a better story and more reasons to actually play it. I prefer punching guys over the horrible gunplay in most Sandbox games, too. Crackdown still wins out overall, though. Now that was Sandbox done right.

I just downloaded San Andreas on Steam and found it has a more cartoony style like GTA 3. I know Vice City and San Andreas both use the GTA 3 engine, but I forgot how unrealistic they were, especially compared to GTA 4. And ironically, Saints Row went from a GTA clone to becoming even more cartoony with The Third.

So in a way, GTA has grown up, while Saints Row has become more immature. I enjoy both styles of gameplay, but the realism of GTA 4 was a refreshing change for the series.

Do you prefer the more cartoony styly of GTA 3 and it's derivatives (Vice City and San Andreas)? Or do you want the series to keep the realism found in GTA 4?

Depends on which Saints Row game you play. Saints Row 1 and 2 were more like copies of GTA, while Saints Row The Third is more over-the-top and cartoony. It even has zombies, which is something that will (hopefully) never appear in a GTA game.

Overall, Saints Row and GTA have their similarities and differences. But with GTA 4 taking the series in a more realistic direction, Saints Row The Third decided to go more over-the-top.

I guess this confirms the future of the Saints Row series. GTA will be more realistic, while Saints Row will be more cartoony.
