Does Retro Studios really need him though? The music in Retro games are awesome, Kenji Yamamoto is doing a wonderful job with Minako Hamano and Masaru Tajima as it is.
Grant Kirkhope however DOES need to be somewhere, he's awesome, and I only just realised he composed Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

I might go out of my way to listen to that soundtrack too (which I haven't done for a game I haven't already played since before putting the soundtracks on youtube was even remotely a thing)
Retro is working on some big project, that's what we know, This guy did epic music from Goldeneye, Banjo & Kazooie, and maybe even Donkey Kong Country, so you would think they would say yes because of his experiences...
It's too bad his life was ruined from the layoff from Big Huge Games

Do remember the rest of my quote did indicate that Retro has Kenji Yamamoto, the guy who's been composing epic Metroid soundtracks since Super Metroid, I'd personally like it if Grant was picked up by BioWare or Bethesda TBH.
Than get a SNES, N64, or a Gameboy and either the KI cart for SNES or Gameboy or KI Gold for N64. Either that or by an arcade machine. Thats the only way you are going to get it.

The BANJO KAZOOIE composer? Retro, you made a mistake.
Hmmm... I beg to differ. Yes, the Banjo Kazooie soundtrack is great and I have TONS of nostalgia for it (even own the disc), but I don't know if he can hold a candle to Kenji Yamamoto in this fight.
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE PHENDRANA DRIFTS MUSIC???????
I second the Bethesda suggestion, cause I'd like to hear more than 20 compositions in my 200+ hour video game. Of course I'd also like to see Bethesda get some Quality Assurance, but that will never happen either.
