Yeah, I said it. I believe that Retro Studios, should buy the rights to the Banjo-Kazooie franchise. If you grew up in the N64 generation like I did (and probably don't own an XBOX [also like me]) , you know there's a giant hole in your heart that's longing for the bear and bird to return to Nintendo systems (or at least made correctly without vehicles).
Here are the reasons why I believe this is a genius idea for Retro to do this:
We've seen what RETRO has done to the completely forgotten Nintendo series, Donkey Kong Country and Metroid. Now if they can revive DonkeyKong and Metroid, imagine what they can do with Banjo!
Rare, is only being forced to work on the new KinectSports series and isn't planning on making anymore 'original' games(that I know of). Obviously, buying the rights to Banjo-Kazooie wouldn't effect Microsoft at all.
I hear a lot of talk from people about "Nintendo should buy Rare again." Face it fans, RARE IS DEAD. I feel that if Rare went back to Nintendo, their new games would suck as bad as their Microsoft releases. RETRO, on the other hand, knows what fans of original franchises want; something new, yet the same. Like I said before, imagine what Retro can do with Banjo.
Having Banjo-Kazooie back on Nintendo systems would make Nintendo millions of dollars because it would give Banjo fans a reason to buy a Wii or 3DS.
They should buy the rights to Mega Man and finish work on Mega Man Legends 3. >___<

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Rare still has the talent. It's just Microsoft are pushing them to other projects besides the ones we love (Banjo, Jet Force, Perfect Dark, etc.)
Shame this will NEVER happen
Didn't everyone hate Nuts and Bolts though? xD I don't have a 360 so I don't know myself, but I heard that everyone didn't like the new looks and the game in general.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I don't think there's anything realistic that Nintendo (through Retro Studios) could do to ~legally~ get the rights to Banjo-Kazooie from Microsoft (through Retro Studios). Even if they ~somehow~ got those rights, I'm not sure which Nintendo developer would begin work on the next B-K, if they decide to develop a new one. I just don't see it happening.
Banjo Kazooie is my favorite game on the N64, so naturally I'm down with this idea. When loved ones die, we're always told to remember the good times and not think about what we're going to be missing moving on. There's a lot of nostalgic setiment on NL lately.
I've heard Nuts and Bolts was good, but Rare is dead. Microsoft ruined them, and forcing them into Kinect Sports and Xbox Live, and everything else (see here) screwed everything up. Nuts and Bolts may be the last good thing from them, however, I don't know if this is the kind of thing for Retro. Plus, they've got hat Wii U title "everyone wants us to do."
