This quote somehow motivates me to be more optimistic about this:

"We love these characters so much; they are like family to us. We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before. Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.”

Sounds fair. I wouldn't mind another Toy Story, even though I'm not as crazy about the sequels as others are. Just so long as it's good.

I'm not entirely sure there's even room for a sequel. "A love story." Of who exactly?

It doesn't feel like it's been four years since Toy Story 3. Crazy.

Well, I wish they had just ended it at 3, as it was a perfect ending, and just keep it alive afterwards through occasional Toy Story shorts. From what Lasseter is saying it sounds like it should be a good movie though, so I'm not worried too much. It also doesn't seem like Pixar is just doing this to make a quick buck either.

Good grief, stop making more of these!! Toy Story 3 proves they've already run out of ideas. If you take away the daycare setting, the movie is basically Toy Story 2, but in a daycare. The first movie was the best movie of the three, but you'd think they'd stop at 3, since Andy's all grown up. Guess I was sorely mistaken.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I don't trust them with "exciting idea" since they've said about completely unexpected and completely original idea for a sequel of Finding Nemo... after nearly ten years of thinking.

This is quite disappointing to be honest. Toy Story 3 was such a high point in Pixar's life and it was a perfect, sweet ending to an amazing franchise. I doubt it'll be bad though and I'll be (hopefully) proven wrong.

it could be looked at in that way, but one should not forget that Pixar and Disney are businesses first, that's a primary reason why they're still around even today.

I'm not completely against the idea of releasing Toy Story 3. After all, there has never been a Toy Story movie that didn't fail to entertain me and the main reason to go to movies is to be entertained, but even I'm hesitant to side with Pixar on this idea 100%, as many other people have pointed out that 3 was the "perfect" movie to end on.

Sigh, Pixar, Pixar, Pixar. What I loved about them and made them special pretty much died sometime between Toy Story 3 and whatever movie they made after that was. I no longer care what movies they make, because they are never going to be as good again. God only knows what happened to them to make them lose the magic.

You, my acquaintance, are a classic example of someone who sees something new and says that whatever came before it is better.

To be fair, the movie after Toy Story 3 was Cars 2, but yeah, I wouldn't give up on them just because of one dud. I thought Brave was awesome.

The universal agreement seems to be that Pixar went downhill, if that's really the case, after Toy Story 3 with the release of Cars 2.

I have yet to be disappointed by one of their movies. Now I will admit the newest planes spin off doesn't look as interesting.

So you weren't disappointed by Cars 2?

I have a very strong attachment to the Toy Story mythos. To the point that I took my Buzz Lightyear to college with me (I still have him) along with a buzz lightyear comforter that I still use. UI even had my bedroom painted like Andy's room until I moved out of my parents house at 17. I'm 29 now.

I just always felt like that movie took my imagination and put it in a movie.
