This site has kind of sucked the past few days. We've got people complaining about people liking iPhone games and we've got people complaining about those people complaining about them liking iPhone games. We've got people complaining about Link not being a female and people complaining about those people complaining about Link not being a female, and the same situation for Luigi not being Princess Peach. We've got people comparing this place to IGN. We've got people starting to get personal and being donkeyholes. (so the second-to-last people has a point?) Basically there's a growing atmosphere of dissension among the people. This is kind of sad considering that video games are supposed to be a form of entertainment. I feel like broad topics about larger issues like sexism and racism are — past a certain point — misplaced here. I think it's sad that people can't deal with other people enjoying or talking about enjoying games on other systems, or feel like they have to prove their undying loyalty to Nintendo/Apple/etc. by making condescending comments about other people. Anyway, I'm not really sure why I wrote this up. I guess I felt like I needed to say something. So there. People.

Video games are entertainment, but social issues are social issues. we don't all have to be jerks about a given topic, but we don't have to belittle major social issues that others feel strongly about either. No one's forcing you to click a topic here at Nintendo Life. Don't want to read it? Don't open the thread. Don't like another user here? Ignore them.
