Topic: ORAS Pokedex Completion

Finally have all the 151 first generation pokemon. Got my Mew today!! Now I'll move on and get all the Pokemon from the Johto region, already have a Celebi from the Pokemon Bank thing How far have other people come in their quest to catch them all?? I'm trying to get a living dex

I have about 620 Pokemon right now, but I am making it harder on myself as I want to be the person named as original owner on every Pokemon too. I have made eggs of a few to get that but mostly I am trying to catch them all naturally. Sadly I think I have gone as far as I can with only X and AS. Waiting to see if a sale will appear for Y and OR during this 20th anniversary.

@DefHalan: My Goal is the same ;D I have a few legendaries where it is impossible to get my name as the owner. I also have an affinity for the blue male sign, so a secondary goal is to have them all be male (of course with the exception of the ones that can only be female )

@ThePowerGlove: I am not going that far. Are you also trying to have every Pokemon, not just counted in the Pokedex but having each Pokemon from a evolutionary line? (example: having Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur)

@DefHalan: Yup ;D That's a living dex. one of every pokemon But it's fun to do, always had the dream to "catch them all" since I was a kid. With the mythical pokemon events going on this year it is finally possible to get one of each

I have 720 in my Pokedex (missing the two unreleased yet.)
I don't have most of the middle evolutions in my PC though.

I completed a living dex on X. It now resides in my Pokemon Bank account. It's just missing hoppa and volcanion, but I guess I'll get them eventually.

I have been playing pokemon since the begining and figured I could probably complete a pokedex if I put all my Pokemon from the various generation together... I only had to get a few there and here, but it was fun.

Thankfully, the new distributions will mean I'll finally get my very own completely 100%-sure legit manaphy and shaymin, I'm suspicious of the ones I have at the moment.

It's been awhile since I've played Omega Ruby but I've gotten back into it. I'm trying to once and for all complete the Pokedex. I caught a few hundred Pokemon but still have a long way to go. Here's a question: would it be easier to catch Pokemon in older games and transfer them over or to try to get them all within Gen VI games? I currently have X and Omega Ruby and don't intend on buying Y or Alpha Sapphire. I have some friends with those games that could help with the version exclusives. I know that every Pokemon is obtainable within Gen VI, but some are only in things like Friend Safari or Mirage Spots, which is what's making me think it would be easier to play some of the older games to get some of the older Pokemon. And for the record, I have games from every generation, I just was never really into catching Pokemon.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm aiming for a living dex if that changes anything. I've been using a Ditto to breed Pokemon from Mirage spots, but leveling them up is a pain and I figure it would be easier to catch them in older games.

I have 672 Pokemon...

I am currently sitting at my Hoenn dex with 199 Pokemon caught. The only ones I need are trade evolutions, Sableye, Kyogre, Seviper, and Jirachi. I have almost all the Pokemon for trade but not a reaper cloth to get Dusknoir or a protector for Rypherior. If someone could help me out I would be very happy. My FC is 3067-6901-9142.

@DefHalan: Thanks for the luck It's going pretty well. I have caught 560 Pokemon at this moment. Just went and captured all the Unown alphabet, as a side-thing

@Meowpheel: I have a few that I think might be hacked, but for the most part I have event pokemon and the ones I caught and breed myself. Got my event Hoopa, so I'm just waiting for Volcanion ;D

@PokeMario: I started when I finished pokemon black, because then I could transfer all my old pokemon from all my previous playthroughs. But the process can be tidious at times. After transferring all the ones I already caught then I started finding them in Pokemon Y and Omega Ruby, and also breeding to get the rest of the evolution line. So I think that is the best approach
As for the leveling have you tried the Chansey secret base trick? That speeds up the proces a bit.

@Rogueleader0908: I'm also battling a lot at the Battle Maison to earn bp to buy all the trade items. If you want anything traded I'll be happy to help if i have a free moment I have both Y and OR so I can use the GTS to trade with myself (Forever alone )

Well, I broke down and bought Pokemon Y. Starting a new Pokemon journey and going to get the Pokemon I can't get in Pokemon X or AS. Maybe in a few months I will be able to afford OR and finish the Pokedex before Sun and Moon release

I remember I got all the Y-exclusive Pokemon from the GTS.

Specifically, I remember someone wanted to trade their Yveltal for a zapdos, and I conveniently had just caught one in X.

Yeah, I am going for a Live Pokedex which means I can't really trade Legendary for Legendary. I also don't want to delete my Pokemon X data. I have put over 200 hours into that save file. I don't want to delete it lol. Pokemon Y I will restart as much as I want lol

Oh hah, I would normally not trade a legendary pokemon either.... But I have accumulated several sets of legendary birds across the many games they appear in... So it didn't bother me.

I just thought it was a lucky GTS find, since most other trades wanted impossible stuff, or Xerneas, of which I only have one.

It was always such a pain to transfer Pokemon to the New version so I never bothered, but now with the Pokemon Bank, it is so easy. I can't believe that after all these years I am so close to completing the Pokedex.

Just traded my Ampharos for Xerneas on the GTS If you check it once in a while you might be lucky and get a non-legendary request for a specific legendary

@ThePowerGlove: Well another issue I ran into is that I haven't seen those Pokemon, so I can't search for it on GTS. lol

I got all 719 on X and Y. I used a lot of GTS trading for the common pokemon, and online trading for the legendaries. I haven't done it on ORAS because I've been too busy resetting for good iv legendaries.
