For me, the most memorable aspect of Sega was their marketing of the Genesis's "blast processing". It was a direct slant towards how slow the processor was in the SNES. Action and sports games just ran slower on the SNES, where as the Genesis / MD versions ran and played better. Conversely, the SNES had that beefy Sony sound chip. Games had deeper and richer audio on SNES compared to their Genesis / MD counterparts.
Both platforms had their strengths and weaknesses.
