Meh, 203 isn't that intimidating. There's plenty animes with more episodes.
You know difficult it is to convince anyone who watches anime on a regular basis to invenst 100+ hours into a single show? That Isn't Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Bleach or One Piece? I can't even get people to watch those shows if they haven't already seen it, let alone another great anime like Sgt. Frog, or in this case Reborn. And no, 200+ episodes is rare even for anime.
Guess I'm just use to big numbers. Haha, so I was wrong. You always manage to make me feel foolish. lol
I didn't mean to make you feel foolish...well, I guess I did but only 'cause I'm angry - I've tried a bunch of times before to get people to watch stuff like One Piece and Sgt. Frog and they're like "noooo its too long!" Grr. Fine, Guess you'll just have to miss out on the greatest shows ever just 'cause you don't want to try it. >_< And for the record, I did try Reborn. I didn't really like it, though. The lame set up threw me off. I'll give it another go some other time, but dang, those first two episodes...
As I said Reborn takes a while to get going but its astounding when it does get serious. I personally still found it enjoyable at the start though and you can't really skip the earlier episodes as they introduce all the main characters. Also, if you do start to watch it and get far enough, beware of skipping the fillers as there is one episode that seems like a filler but is actually linked to one of the main arcs. The episode I'm referring to was much earlier on in the manga so it will seem really surprising when a character from that episode turns out to be an important character later on but they didn't include that episode in the anime and then included it later on when they realized its importance so it kind of lost its effect as it took place right before the arc where that character I mentioned returns in the anime. It actually started out as a gag manga and I think they changed its tone as its popularity was decreasing. That certainly paid off, I've seen others who have said that once it gets going its one of the best anime they've seen. As for One piece, I tried it out but I really couldn't stand its annoying cast.
I've been meaning to watch an episode of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt for the longest time (just for my love of those items ). The nominations here reminded me I hadn't, and I watched a couple of episodes. The show was perverted, depraved, disturbing, effed up... and COMPLETELY AWESOME (not to mention strangely sexy)! Add my support to its nomination! Not quite in line with my current animated viewing tastes (about the polar opposite of "that cartoon whose name will not be spoken"), but a nice departure for variety! Variety is the spice of life, and boy is PSG spicy! Poor Chuck takes so much abuse... And a priest named Garterbelt. If there were more of that at church, I may actually start going again.

thats japan for you
I need to learn Japanese and move there. I'd fit right in. Plus, I'd get new video games 6 months-1 year earlier than everyone else!

Hey hey hey... Once the Jaya arc rolls around Luffy is done acting like a 12 year old.
At least, not as much as he did earlier in the anime. Which is good, because I couldn't stand the overly kiddy personality which he didn't have too much of in the Manga...

Had you seen it before or after Funimation took over? (which was around 2007)
I've seen both and I think I was a bit harsh as I just refreshed my memory with the latter and it was okay but I still don't think its as good as a lot of people say it is.

To be fair, it does take approximately 30-40+ episodes to become anywhere close to as good as people say it is, and IMO, it doesn't really become the greatest show ever until, like, the 200s...and then widens the gap from there.
