Topic: Nintendo Power Subscription

Hey guys! My NP subscription expired a few years back and I've been meaning to resubscribe but I just haven't gotten around to it. Before I do, I was wondering if anyone knew about any subscription bonuses for signing up? I remember always seeing advertisements in the old issues saying that you would get a Pokemon Emerald strategy guide if you subscribed, or other stuff like that. I know that the new guys took over the magazine (I can't remember who) and I don't really think I've seen anymore or those bonuses. I'd hate to subscribe now only to find out that I could've gotten a free gift out of it, though!

Any help or advice is extremely appreciated =D

I don't think so anymore. They do little side-specials so maybe one of those, but I doubt it.

Getting player's guides back then...now its like...erm, well I don't remember getting anything anymore. :/

@Sgt_Lugby I've been a subscriber since the Holiday 2008 issues, and I haven't seen them in ages. Shame those sounded like good deals a few/many years ago

I've actually bought a couple of Nintendo Power magazines this year, and none of them mentioned anything about a special bonus.
They do have savings, though, like 12 issues in a year for $20, but it's in the US only (much more expensive in Canada I believe).

No more bonuses. I got my first subscription through an advertisement that came with Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones, and my subscription bonus was a guide for the game

Neat thing is, my first issue was the last one published by the old publishers. Future took over with the very next issue.

I think the only time they did those offers is when Nintendo themselves did the magazine. Now someone else publishes them.

Future!!! That's who took over. I couldn't remember =P looks like I'll just get the regular $20 subscription then. Thanks for the help! It really is a shame they don't offer those anymore lol makes me feel like an old grandpa reminiscing on the good ol' days!

Yeah, no bonuses suck. I'm always on the fence over getting a Nintendo Power subscription. There are so many months where nothing big comes out, 2011 was dead--especially since I didn't have a 3DS. I only bought one copy of NP off the rack that year, the one that previewed Resident Evil: Revelations and Kirby's Return to Dreamland. Not much there.

If anyone's interested, NP has been pretty sweet this year. The April issue had those Kid Icarus AR cards, an Unchained Blades preview, a Xenoblade review, and a report on the 3DS: year one. I just picked up the June issue. It has a Masahiro Sakurai interview concerning Kid Icarus: Uprising, also a 25 year history of Castlevania, a Pokemon Conquest review, and best of all--an awesome look at the early creative process behind the Last Story. If you're interested in Castlevania or the Last Story, you should check out the June issue of Nintendo Power.

I miss the old NP with Howard & Nester, comics, and great artwork. Like many modern iterations of things I once loved, today's NP just doesn't do much for me. Let's hear it for old school NP, that had things like claymation Mario, and beheaded Dracula on the cover!!!
