This is a thread for renditions on music from Nintendo games.
I'll start things off below with a set of covers my wife has been created. She's an amazing professional violinist, and in these difficult pandemic times where the world of performing arts has come to a complete halt, she has chosen to focus her talents on the music from the games she loves to play. I hope these videos will bring as much joy to you as they do to me and look forward to other musical interpretations of the games we enjoy so much.
I've made over forty hours worth of covers, and nearly four hundred songs, based off video game music. It's a nice hobby of mine and I've been doing it since July 2019, when I got my MacBook.
Here is my arrangement of "Sword Search" from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. In some songs with short melodies I start with the basic chords, and then add layers to create a coherent, hopefully well-sounding whole piece. When I told a friend I made this, they were in complete disbelief! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nDsdueJGRUeRjkGG-qV-U62zwJiN...
Here is my arrangement of the "Lost Woods" / "Saria's Song" theme from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I used an e-bass in place of pizzicato, because on headphones they blend in with the rest of the instruments. And as for the lead "bell synth", it has a nice airy quality to it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Za08WqNNTkUREK5SMeFCOuMFWHBT...
One of my absolute all-time favourites to make and listen to: "Tal Tal Heights" from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. It took me about a year to make a version I was completely satisfied with, and I managed to perfect the electric guitar lead, which couldn't go very high. All in all the chords sounded great, the koto sounded alright, and the bass wasn't too intrusive or anonymous. Enjoy! https://drive.google.com/file/d/14Fqv5sGfJzFPidjolLF0wDfFDLMA...
And this is one I just produced two days ago, my take on "Stickerbrush Symphony" from Donkey Kong Country 2. It has a very hypnotic, relaxing vibe to it, and I tried to stray away from that, to avoid just making a 1:1 cover. The ambient noise is something I'm very happy with, and the mixing was just right, to highlight all of the sound. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b5jrKFoMtQ4EhZsR7pLA8vyPB6OL...
